    If you want 1080p, you can expect to spend about 1500 or even up to 2000 CAD, depending on the model, for decent cameras. Note that an NVR or PC running BlueIris will be extra. I'm in Canada as well, doing about the same sort of thing. I'm looking at about 1400 or so for 8 Hikvision cams...
