The cameras don't require any sd card for operation. If you're using BI and recording to the HD, then your good. Personally, I use sd cards in all my cameras, for a few reasons. Not that this is the fix, but try opening with legacy internet explorer, if your in Windows 10 using Microsoft edge. Open first in edge, then top right menu tab> open with internet explorer. Also, while in internet explorer, add the ip address to the explorer compatibility mode list- upper right...- Kevin Penney

Your network should not "alert you" when the camera is connected. You must locate the device on your network with the ip location tool included on the software cd or found on dahua website.
