So I have a TS140 that I just ordered (xeon 3.2 1225v3) along with a WD Purple drive for surveillance, a WD blue drive as misc drive and a used SSD I have from my old computer for windows..
I have both Windows 7 and 8 (from older laptops that I have the keys for) so I have the option of...
I'm getting ready to pull the trigger. my old laptop runs like a dog with 4 hikvision and 2 720 cameras
never heard of the WD purple hard drives? What's so special about them?

oh and what about these...
Hey thanks!
I don't want to spend more than 350 though. I already have the O/S (windows 8 via education discount) and HDD. The price point of the TS440 was good at 300. there is one a TS140 for 297 on amazon as well (looks like a returned item)
Looking at getting one of these. I would want a smaller system like a Lenovo M93p, or maybe a HP Elitedesk 800 G1 but the T140 and T440 seem very affordable (about 300-350 bucks)
How would the lenovo T140 handle my setup? I'm running version 4 with 4 hikvisions running at 1080, one geeya 801c...
I have BI on both my computers (desktop which used to run it) and the laptop which is now the BI server and serves no other purpose.
I can't get sound to come through the laptop for the life of me from the 2432. On my desktop I can hear the sound. On the laptop, there is no sound. all the...
I already have the hardware event setup (from Blue Iris)
just not sure where in camera settings it is. I see something similar in even my 2032s for it. so it confused me
One feature I love with Blue Iris is that I can be notified when there is motion on one of my cameras via alerts when I'm not home...
Does xprotect (GO for me) offer something like this? They have a nice mobile app, but I don't see if it can push motion alerts?
Blue Iris does the job, but I just thought xprotect was more streamlined. I actually run both on a icore5 laptop right now. It seems to work, but laptop is def working hard lol
hmm... the timeline thing now only lets me go to a day. I liked having the previous timeline tool that showed me activity of a specific day/time. I can no longer see activity scale. that sucks...
It doesn't... it only let me do a avi. I was able to to a good quality avi for 27 seconds at 147 mb.
now what's REALLY annoying is that it puts a HUGE logo on the bottom right corner that has a white background, taking out 1/3 of the bottom portion of the screen.
the GO is nothing more than a...
Can someone tell me how to export a video with a decent size?
the MS IYUV or whatever it is create HUGE files. We're talking about 25 gb for a 6 min video!!!
someone help me out in how to export a basic good quality video? like avi maybe? MKV would be nice, but it apparently won't happen in...
Trying to have the xprotect go mobile setup so I can view it from my phone...
Seems way more complicated than blue iris...
any help on this matter? Seems too complicated and no good guides out if any :(
I'm not even sure if the management tool came with the mobile server, or if I have to...
Any ideas what is causing this?
It seems to do it on my i5 laptop with 4gb ram windows 7... Freshly formatted with nothing on it too. It doesn't seem to do it on my beast i5 overclocked machine
I would say maybe the laptop can't handle the video, but it's really not THAT demanding. I have 3...
I just dedicated a core i5 laptop as my BI server (we'll see if a laptop can handle it, doesn't seem like it can) and I imported all my settings from my desktop to it (the reg file) Everything transferred good (from windows 8.1 64 bit to windows 7 64 bit) but for some reason, alerts aren't...
I just setup 3 more cameras and 2 of them are hikvision 2032s. I was getting great performance out of it today until I realized one of them dipped in FPS to 15. no matter what I do, I can't get it over 15fps...
I've confirmed in hikvision that the fps is set to 25. I also verified that on BI...
interesting. Good to know. I will use that method for the garage one I'm installing.
I wish it was removable like dahua then. I never really used their cameras.
Re: Using a 2032 "sideways" can I remove or rotate hood?
I didn't want it that low where it's face height. I do know what you mean though. I have another camera inside where if the door opens, I will have a much better face shot.
I just think that if it was face height, someone...
I installed a 2032 for my front door and utilizing it sideways, so I have a long view of my walk path. However it looks sort of funny being sideways with the body of camera being sideways. Especially the hood...
is there a way to rotate that stuff, or do I just have to live with a camera...
Hey thanks for reply. I ended up doing a factory reset and it works now. the camera had a previous configuration (192.168.1.128) when I first got it, which is odd because that's not the factory IP setting... once I did the factory reset, everything works.
Pretty much what the title says...
I see the new 2032 I just got in the mail on SADP and I set it up identical to my other camera for the gateway subnet etc.
however when I try to connect to it via browser, I'm not getting through...
any suggestions?
odd... only doing it with one camera though...
snapshot??? ya know. right click on the picture and select snapshot to get that 1 image from the video for that frame...
Tried to get a snapshot, and it's coming out all black. Also I noticed when I pause the video, the view turns all black. any ideas?
interestingly enough, it's doing this on my Geeya 801C camera, and not my hikvision
