    The latest version of BlueIris. Substreams are enabled in the camera web interface but I don't use them. I thought at first that the network may be has too little bandwidth, meaning 2x 4k streams would be too much. But that makes no sense. Lowering the bitrate does not solve it or improve it.

    It is a 16 core Threadripper CPU with 64GB Ram and a NVidia 980TI GPU. When I set format to re-encode with XVID - MPEG4 instead of direct to disk the image is much smoother. Only then I get more compression artifacts even at 100%.

    Isn't the last screenshot the configure option? Interval Frame = IFrame? I had it at 50 and Frame Rate at 25. In BlueIris I set the FPS at 20.

    It happens for each camera I have. I created a new camera, again the same problem. I also tried with H264 and it gave the same result. The live stream is high-quality 4K, recording not. I think I posted all my settings previously but here again as complete as possible.

    Is there a solution for the Nvidia docker crashing (Image not able to upload image anymore)? Would it be a solution to let docker restart the script every 30min or 1 hour so it keeps running and is this possible?

    When I rotated in the camera instead of BI it made no difference. My other cameras have the same behavior (high-quality live stream but low-quality recordings) I don't think deleting and re-adding will make any difference.

    I don't think it is the substream, because that is a much lower resolution than this. I set Blueiris to record the mainstream (same as the live feed) directly without recompression. (Are my blueIris settings ok, I posted them above)

    When I zoom the image is even more pixelated, so it's clearly a lower resolution. But it's not the substream. Look at my settings it's recording the same mainstream as the live view. Video card is 980ti with fairly up to date drivers

    I am using the desktop version of Blueiris. When you say Cam video settings you mean the firmware settings?. Those are at 4K with H.265 compression. Live stream looks good. That is why I don't understand why it just does not record the Livestream directly to disk with the same quality.

    I am using H.265 now and still not the same quality as the stream (nothing changed). It remains clearly lower quality and more pixelated. Am I using the wrong settings?

    It works fine in live view though, it just needs to record at the same resolution and quality. Videos look more blocky/pixelated, so I guess they are lower resolution.

    The Main realtime stream is crisp 4K image, but recorded videos are clearly a much lower resolution. The Camera is using 265+ Compression. I set BlueIris to use that stream directly and save it to disk without recompression. What am I doing wrong?

    Just got a response from BlueIris, he will implement JPEG resolutions in the next release!! So you don't need to use a substream perse, and can set custom jpeg resolutions.

    Works here :) Maybe you can also mail BlueIris support via config menu and request the feature for custom JPG resolution. If more people ask they might implement it.

    Thanks, It will disable H264+ and H265+. It would just work much beter if BlueIris implemented a way to downscale the JPEG captures using the Main stream 4K. Just a simple option to not only set the quality but also the resolution of the JPEG.
