What is your experience with Sentry?

Folks - going through all the pages. Can someone comment to performance at night with a good Starlight camera? Is it as good as day in detecting humans? Also, what is the latency between BI sending sentry the image and receiving an alert on the phone. Thanks

    BI ports

folks - i'm tightening down my windows firewall to allow BI access to only google servers to send alerts to my phone and of course allow any updates from BI servers. I have the google IP address block info but anybody got the BI servers Thx

Dahua Face Detection alerts in BI

I'm only referring to face detection as a way to get a motion for a human. I don't care about the actual face database

Dahua Face Detection alerts in BI

No alerts on onvif device manager so far in spite of numerous faces in front of the camera. Any way to troubleshoot this?

Dahua Face Detection alerts in BI

If this is the post you are referring to, I've already followed these instructions https://ipcamtalk.com/threads/how-to-use-the-built-in-hikvision-motion-detection-instead-of-the-blue-iris-motion-detection.47240/#post-442587

Dahua Face Detection alerts in BI

Ok i'll keep onvif device manager open, clicked on Alerts and will wait for a IsMotion: true message or is it another kind of message if it detects a face? Also i've never been able to figure out any setting in ONVIF device manager to change the time it shows which is always wrong, showing...

Dahua Face Detection alerts in BI

folks I've enabled Face detection in a Dahua 5231R camera and had it on IVS prior to this and BI was configured and receiving alerts defined as ONVIF/external. I'm trying to understand if I should see alerts every time the camera detects a face in BI. I don't care about the actual face, just...

    GPU

For anybody who has GPU working correctly, can you check if your GPU performance chart shows any number besides 0% and is it GPU/3D or GPU/Video Encode Thanks

    Hardware acceleration and GPU question

I'm having the same issue. BI with hardware decoding worked fine in the past but now it won't even take that setting. In camera, whether I set it to Intel or Intel+VPP, hit ok and come back to setting, it shows as None. The 5.2.5.10 supposedly fixed this hardware decoding bug but even after that...

    Avoiding animals in alerts

do you know if their new product person recognition will automatically be available to current customers? That's releasing may 1 too

    Avoiding animals in alerts

I would like to have used Cancel shadows since I get alerts from folks walking on the sidewalk but their shadows are in my front yard but it says (depreciated) Also, did high definition increase your CPU% - I guess BI saves a snapshot and runs the Motion sensor algorithm on an actual image and...

    Avoiding animals in alerts

Another q - does BI have any intelligence to cancel shadows? I'm getting alerts from people walking in my front yard but it's actually their shadows. It only occurs during 1 hour of the day when the shadows are super long

    Avoiding animals in alerts

So does object size make any impact?

    Avoiding animals in alerts

Folks - Does BI have in-built functionality to stop giving me alerts for cats & racoons. I have been consistently moving object size upwards and now at 603 but the camera does keep catching animals which are about 10 feet distance from it. Any way to avoid this without paying for a Sentry...

    High CPU overnight

I know it's not the most ideal situation but i can't afford to have two computers running in this household as I live in a city with the highest per kWh cost (we pay 52 cents per kWH compared to the national average of about 13). My only choice if I can't get this to work would be to move to...

    High CPU overnight

This is my primary machine - if Blue Iris is only supposed to run about 20%, there is plenty of processing power for basic Chrome and a few other Windows apps. SQL server is being run by the Veeam backup agent and I turned it off but it made no impact to the CPU

I ran GPU-Z and with BI console shut, it shows 1% load and with the console open, it's about 9-12%

    High CPU overnight

When I spoke to Ken, the author of BI, he said the software doesn't understand NTFS links and hence status won't show my 2nd HDD correctly. However, I checked c:\bi\stored folder and it does contain 5.85gb of files including ones from today Those options in task manager are greyed out for me...

Also when I do bring up the BI console, GPU does jump from 0/1% to about 15% - doesn't that show BI is using the GPU?

    High CPU overnight

I only use two profiles - Active & Night. Night is only used for the 3 indoor cameras so I went into each camera settings, chose night and checked and it's all d2d If any of you guys don't mind, I can open up a zoom or team viewer too for you to take a look

BTW, does blue iris have a history of updates changing settings automatically? Just curious I am running BI connected to a monitor, keyboard & mouse Storage - C:\Blueiris is the SSD (New and Alerts are on this). Stored folder is on C:\BI\Stored which is a 8TB spinning HDD. C:\BI is actually a...

does this matter? Either after I upgraded the intel graphics card or upgraded to BI 5.2.5.9 this morning, each camera setting changed from default to None for Hardware Accelerated decode in Video settings. I changed it back to default and the general settings is set to Intel. When I hit ok and...
