    I have the same NVR as the thread starter and i don't get the motion detection to be displayed on the playback mode of the NVR (green lines in the web browser bottom)...all i see is the blue line for continous recording :) Motion detection and "notify surveillance center" is activated in the NVR...

    This is not a serial number. Look at the sticker on the nvr.

    2342 cam - can't find on LAN after initial setup on NVR?

    There is a much simpler solution: Activating "virtual host" function on the nvr and you will get direct connection to all the attached cams. All you have to do then is to add the corresponding port number after your nvr's ip adress, e.g. 192.168.168.100:65001 for the cam on channel 1...
