Auto Maintain - Do I really need this?

Wow. I didn't know all that was going on. I haven't used the auto reboot option but I might do it just to see if I have the same problem you are having. That's a few steps above my tech level so I'd be contacting support for that problem.

Auto Maintain - Do I really need this?

On my Q-See 8816 NVR I use the Auto Maintain / Auto Delete to only keep recordings for 5 days. That way my HD doesn't end up with zero space. I'm not sure how Linux based systems work but I think a HD can work better if there is still space on it. I don't use the auto reboot but most...

    Got my Dahua 4MP IPC-HDBW4421R-AS 2.8mm

I have a Q-See 8816 NVR and the Dahua cams I have used with it work fine. The software on the NVR and cams is Dahua.

    Got my Dahua 4MP IPC-HDBW4421R-AS 2.8mm

Thanks for that info... :) I ordered two IPC-HDB44121R cams with 3.6mm on Ebay from a chinese seller. I'm in the US so it'll probably take a few weeks. I did notice that some sellers ship the camera with a default lens of 3.6mm unless you tell them 2.8mm or 6mm.

8 cams 16ch POE Costco Sale

Be careful when you are researching these 16 channel systems as some only have POE on only 8 of the ports like this Swan on sale at Costco. We got the Q-See system on sale a few months ago and the NVR has all 16 ports with POE.

    Got my Dahua 4MP IPC-HDBW4421R-AS 2.8mm

:) If you can't get a Chinese word translated properly send me a pic of it and we'll translate it. ☺ By the way how long did it take to get your order and did you get a 2.8mm or 3.6mm lens with it...?

Any luck with 4mp at night with IR?

You are right. It does reflect a lot. Trying to cut.......I mean "trim" the plant and add a motion light with a pretty good output. Not that we have problems here but stuff happens...

Any luck with 4mp at night with IR?

This is a shot from a rebranded dahua bullet 4mp qsee cam (Costco). I think with some adjustment they could do better. I know you were talking about Hikivision but I thought I'd show a 4mp from another cam. I'm in the process of putting more light and negotiating to trim my wife's plant... :(...

New Dahua NVR4208 NVR working great!

I was able to get into the camera software and set up the motion detection using the "spikes". Made it a lot easier to see what was going on. :)

New costco system on sale next month for $1299. What do you think?

I got the Costco system on sale back in July 2015 when it included the QC8816 NVR and 8 4MP cameras which I like a lot. This new sale is a good deal but it is different. This upcoming sale includes the QC8916 NVR and 12 3MP cams which have different specs so check them out carefully. For...

Returning a GW-2050IP. Anyone have experience with GW products.

Thanks again for the good info. I'm getting a varifocal to begin with because I'm not sure exactly what lens I'll need yet. :)

Returning a GW-2050IP. Anyone have experience with GW products.

Yes. I got a Q-See system from Costco with 8 4mp cams and a 16 channel NVR (QC8816). The cams (QCN8026B) are ok but all are 3.6mm so I was looking for a varifocal up to about 12mm. I'm happy with the NVR so far.

As far as Dahua cams go wouldn't the pic be better with a 4mp version of the links you sent...? Just wondering...

Returning a GW-2050IP. Anyone have experience with GW products.

That's the learning curve I'm stuck in right now trying to find out what all the specs mean and if they are important and why. Thank you for the info on the mp ratings. With this Q-see NVR I think I'll stick with the Dahua cams for compatibility and I'll check what Nelly and Ali have to offer. ☺

Returning a GW-2050IP. Anyone have experience with GW products.

Yeah it will be back in it's little box back to CA first thing Monday morning. I am looking for a Dahua with a varifocal lens. I am looking for a high mp but will the high mp sacrifice night vision or low light conditions?

Returning a GW-2050IP. Anyone have experience with GW products.

I bought this 5MP cam (GW-2050IP ) for about $120 just to test it out and see if it was compatible with my Q-See NVR (QC8816). I only got to bench test it inside because moisture kept getting inside the lens cover...(before I took it off) :( It comes with it's own software for configuring the...

New Dahua NVR4208 NVR working great!

I've gotten some good info on this forum as far as what lens to use. :) The cam is a QCN8026b and would be aprox. 50ft. from the street center. So maybe a 12mm would work. It looks like everything inside is glued up so I probably can't change the lens. This actually happened at 6:00pm full...

New Dahua NVR4208 NVR working great!

I haven't got that far yet. :) I've been busy taking one of the cameras apart to see if I can change the lens from a 3.6mm to a 12mm. I found a place where these lenses are available ( http://www.m12lenses.com ) Yesterday our mailbox got injured by a hit and run. :( Got good clear...

New Dahua NVR4208 NVR working great!

I think my software is a little different because I don't have that "setup" button. Just a button to "Set" the zones, sensitivity and threshold. It'd be nice to have the little activity spikes. You gave me an idea though. I've been doing this through the NVR. I have a laptop set up to...

New Dahua NVR4208 NVR working great!

I'm pretty new to this and recently got a Q-see NVR QC8816. I think the software is about the same. I've gone through the motion detect set up but have not used email settings yet. I did notice that there is an option to enable snapshots. Main Menu / Settings / Camera / Recording Status /...

Hello, I've read a lot of good info on this forum to help research a new system for our home and decided to join last week. Hopefully I'll be able to contribute something useful once in a while. ☺ We ordered the 16 channel Q-see system on sale at Costco. Looking forward to testing it and...

    Problems with SpyTech

That's why I use Amazon a lot because of the extensive Q/A and review sections on many products. I would actually pay a few dollars more on Amazon knowing that if there is a problem something will be done. On the news I saw a new online shopping company called "Jet" trying to compete with...

    Problems with SpyTech

Being new to dash cams I decided to get a G1WH late last year from what I thought was SpyTec. Turned out there were several Chinese vendors literally copying SpyTec's ad word for word in Amazon and using it as there own. Even down to the "Shipped from USA" in the title. Luckily I got the real...

Qsee/dahua 4mp system on sale at costco

Thanks. That's one of the things I've been concerned about is how well the low light system works. I can bench test it and if all else fails try something else. Not sure about the Avertx sytem at Costco. Don't see a whole lot mentioned about it.
