Refurbished PC (CPU), return or not?

I had my lenovo M93p with an i5-4570 cpu with quicksync and 8GB of ram running five 5mp cameras with dual stream, one 2 mp camera with dual stream, and three 3 mp cameras with single stream. CPU usage was 15-25%, keep in mind the same PC also hosted two linux virtual machines. I was using the...

Considering moving to PC blue iris, versus current lorex nvr. Questions, comments invited.

If you have a BI computer, you don't need that NVR. If you must have the NVR, put all cameras, NVR, and BI computer onto that POE switch. "T-Mobile home internet modem" is this just the modem or it is a firewall/router as well?

Is BI mobile as simple to setup as Dahua?

Why? It takes me less than 2 minutes to setup a new VPN user with my pivpn. One command sudo pivpn add That's it. It prompts for password setup and create a opvn file that you import from the devices you want to add vpn to. You don't even need the blueiris mobile app, just user the web...

Connect iPhone to Windows 10 via VPN?

The word you're looking for is server. There is a OpenVPN server for Windows and here is a how to. https://www.liquidweb.com/kb/how-to-setup-openvpn-on-windows-server-2019/ Much easier to use PiVPN for me since I already use Raspbian...

Connect iPhone to Windows 10 via VPN?

I use Hyper-V within Windows to host Raspbian (debian linux) and use PiVPN (OpenVPN) from there. Takes 1% cpu cycle and 1GB of ram. I also use Raspbian to run Pi-Hole

Ezviz (hikvision) cameras disconnecting from NVR WiFi network

The chance of the company to update the firmware of my $10 camera is very small and the chance of them fixing this issue is even smaller so I found my own way of eliminating the issue. Good luck to you.

Ezviz (hikvision) cameras disconnecting from NVR WiFi network

I have my wifi only cameras plug into smart plugs to restart them everyday so they don't drop out. No issue so far.

Can login remotely thru Blue Iris Android app but not UI3 browser

OP has a Asus router, he really should look into using its OpenVPN and DDNS features.

    Asus DDNS?

I use Dynu for my ddns needs. They have windows client that I can use on my BI server.

EZVIZ DB1C motion dection not woring with Hikvision DS7600

Even if you can get motion detection going, you would be very disappointed with all the false alert. A bug, a bird, a dog, a car, a leaf, light from car, a cat, etc can all trigger the motion detection. I got so many false alert that I stopped motion detection on my phone app that connected to...

Looking for this rather special IP cam

You're confused. 8Mbps tells you exactly the date rate, 8 Megabits per second. Here is a calculator you can use to calculate the bandwidth but that doesn't mean your ideal camera exists. https://www.exacq.com/config/ What fast motion are you trying to record?

What is a decent IP cam for my budget?

Other than you, nobody knows what "my camera" is. List the make and model of "my camera" if you're looking for help.

Confused about wifi cams and NVR. Do they use my router wifi? How does notification work?

Yes, all your wifi cameras will have to be in your wifi network. If you plan to use wifi for 7-8 cameras, you'll have nothing but disappointment. High drop out rate, high disconnect, high latency, etc. I had two access points serving 8 cameras, still not enough bandwidth and I had to run wires...

Hardware spec for a BI machine.

P1000, P620, P600, P400 are all half height cards and running max of 47watt -30watt. Since I don't need the most powerful card out there with most cuda cores, I found a cheap $60 P620 and it's perfect for my needs.

I have a Lenovo M93p with 4th gen i5 4570 with 16GB ram, 120SSD, 1TB HD, P620 GPU running deepstack, two instances of linux virtual machines, as well as BI with 9 cameras. I think OP orignal setup would be fine for 14 cameras, if even with deepstack running, probably a little slow to detect but...

NVR Is painfully slow after setting up motion detection.

I ditched my hikvision 8 ch NVR for a $30 used PC and $60 BlueIris. The results were that BlueIris together with Deepstack will actively send me a text when its AI detects a person in the camers/hours I specified. When I had my motion detection on my Hikvision NVR, 95% of what I got was false...

I'm not a programmer but I bet it has to do with most cheap camera not support RTSP backchannel for two way audio.
