NETGEAR 8 Port PoE Gigabit Ethernet Easy Smart Managed Essentials Switch (GS308EPP) - with 8 x PoE+ @ 123W
Am running the above switch.
I would like to run 2 Daiwa 5442’s without running 2 separate ethernet cables from the switch to each cam. So the idea of a 2 port splitter comes to mind...
The climate in my area is it hardly rains (S. California) and the cam will be mounted under and eave. It wont get wet nor can I imagine lightening hitting it (albeit the casing is metal). Going by the book, seems I should ground it but, practically, is it necessary?
Is it even possible? Tried with a Netgear range extender and a Trendnet injector. Both are known to be working.
I set my cam with a static IP address.
But seems the cam is being assigned a different IP address by the range extender. SI can't detect the cam with either IP address.
I cant...
Hi all, a very belated but very appreciative thank you for all your insights an tips. I have not installed the cam outside yet but tested it and am very happy with it.
On the NCD800, were you able to get the mic working? I thought the cam has speakers and through BI (app and desktop software) I am hoping to speak to the cam. I got it workign the other way around (cam to BI desktp or app) only.
I Googled and followed this guys steps - which are the same as yours - except I didnt disconnect audio in BI. Sound output form the cam works. But I cant get the mike to cam to work. Any ideas?

I got it to work. The video drop down had a video + audio option and I clicked...
Gents I was able to reset the PW using the SADP tool and contacting support.
Flintstone, you sort of highlight an intersting problem.
So the SADP tool assigned an IP address. I used the same in BI and the cam is up and running fine.
Strangely, I cannot see the cam in my list of connected...
Is the admin PW is in this software:
1) the same PW I gave it when I activated the camera?
2) if yes, its possible to have 2 admin PWs? In other words, the admin PW is actually the cam PW?
The SADP tool is what I would use to change the IP address of the cam?
Cant seem to get a new Annke set...
OK I got these from an AMZN review. Looks like the LAN cable can come out the bottom and side for sure (but but sure about the top)? And it is possible to enclose the other cables and only have the LAN cable leave the round mount? Can someone confirm? Thank you!
Hi Lewic, you wrote "The camera shroud does have a notch for the purpose of routing the cables out the side. Just remove the silicon plug and the cables can be routed out." So the cables can be routed out the side AND the top but not the bottom? I prefer they be routed out the top but the side...
Im considering the turret version of the FCD800 or NCD800. Will be mounting it on a wall and I prefer the cable to lead up not down as you have in your installation. Based on photos of the cam I do not think this is possible unless I am able to remove the cam from the turret frame and invert it...
Rather complicated but my only option given location is to mount it on top of a door frame. So the POE LAN cable will run above the frame. Later, I may move it higher. It will be in an enclosed area (wall surrouning the property). The idea is to view into the street.
I have a technical question. Am considering the NCD800 turret version. Will mount it against a wall and preffer the turret as its less intimindating. I can't drill any holes in the wall so the POE cable will have to run from the edge of the turret base. Is their an inlet/outet notch for this...
Thank you. So (again layperson speaking) it is part of BI not some malware that latched onto BI? What scared me is I installed a free app called MiniTool Partition Wizard on the same day and Windows Defender spotted Ngork but in subsequent scans would not complete until I deleted MiniTool. Im...
Can someone help me understand the signifigance of this? My background with BI and Windows security is weak so I don't know how to react to this. I did search the Internet including this wonderful site but really am at a loss if this should be of concern. Thank you.
Thank you all. I decided to continue monitoring the situation. Its friggin hot where I am and maybe moving it to a lower ambient temp room is the most practical solution.
Had I known the Seagate gets as hot as it does versus the WD I probably would have passed on it.
I have the usual PC based BI setup with 2 HDDs. New to all this and considering someone could run off with the PC. I know the cams have an SD card backup but are you more exprienced folks using some kind of NAS backup offsite? Or is that overkill because after looking into it, it sure is...
Thank you. The WD averages about 38C but has peaked at 40C at times. Its the Seagate temps I am worried about. Unfortunately I dont have the airflow specs to the fan currently being used. It is a Lenovo part though. Is there a stronger fan I can out in and would that help? I use a Noctua 8025...
I think the desktop case is a full size one. ThinkCentre M90t Gen 3 (Intel) Tower | Powerful, versatile 17L desktop
Its not a mini if you considered my question carefully. The question regarding the drive is it seems to peak at 45C and average 43 to 44C and is that excessive?. That translates...
Question Regarding HDD Temps in PC Desktop:
Am running BI using a ThinkCentre M90t Gen 3. It is a full sized desktop. I acquired it with no fans at a really good price new.
Installed a WD Purple 4TB (5400 RPM) and a Seagate Skyhawk AI 10TB (7200 RPM). I never had any problems with the WD temps...
