Cam Activation/Configuration over VPN?

anyone know if this happpened? ie, where to get latest IR-fixed fw for hdw5442tp-as? dahuawiki has DH_IPC-HX5XXX-Volt_MultiLang_NP_Stream3-USA_V2.820.0000000.0.R.201114.bin, but that's USA-specific (not international) and unclear that it has the IR fixes discussed here... thanx.- pozzello

i see no traffic from the cam in that capture. Just packets from your Dell, though it looks like you may have set it at 192.168.1.1 and .254.254 to do the tftp thing? too bad, as that cannot work if there's no signs of life from the cam... -

how long is 'strong lagging? what device are you 'live-viewing' from? the NVR console? a web browser on the same network? a web browser or phone on a remote network? IP cams can typically have 1-2 second 'handwaving' lag/delay through the system, but any longer than a couple seconds may... -

recommendation for best ip camera to capture face?
lot's of options. if you don't need more than about 12mm (~4x) zoom, most vari-focal's should get the FOV you need... what's the lighting like at night? how much $ you wanna spend? a face for ID can be hard to get if the target is wearing a mask & hat and keeping their gaze down to the...- pozzello

OK, checking the specs of that camera, it does seem to require PoE+ (not just PoE), and it wants 24V AC power input. https://www.kamery-ip.com/zalacznik/Karta-katalogowa-Dahua-SD59230T-HN-6577.pdf so perhaps your 'regular' poe switch simply can't provide enuf power for it, so it flashes like... -

yes, that's the reset button. if not already,. hold it down for a good 30 seconds while powering it up to effect a factory reset on otherwise OK camera. "it tries to identify lan network then it dissapear for 1 second and coming back again " do you mean the switch poe and/or link light comes... -

Smartening up the Lorex LNB8005C 8MP mini bullet.
dunno about the NVR, but i have found no Dahua fw that works on the E891ab... my major gripe with the Lorex fw is the gui won't let you set the I-frame interval, but there's a workaround for that: Set GOP (I-frame interval) on Lorex cams that don't have this exposed in the web UI. -
