    Review-OEM 4mp AI Cam IPC-T5442TM-AS Starlight+

I was planning to purchase a few of these to upgrade from 5231r-ze, but after reading a lot of posts here, I'm not so sure. Are those of you that are seeing these quality concerns able to resolve them and happy with the choice? I'm still watching this thread, but it seems like I may want to wait...

    5231r-ze replacement?

I have multiple 5231r-ze cameras on my home at the current time. In reading about all of the new 4mp cameras, I am looking to upgrade for a better image both during the day, and at night. I believe varifocal would be best, but could be persuaded to a fixed lens. I am looking for some...

Alerts are saving but not showing up in Windows directory

Ok, thanks. I don't know why, but I was thinking I should see them. But knowing this, I believe everything is good. Thanks for the quick reply and the help!

Alerts are saving but not showing up in Windows directory

So I recently swapped a HDD that was in my BI pc. I temporarily had to unplug the purple drive that I used for BI. Once the new drive was in and BI drive was hooked back up, it appears to be recording live and storing that video perfectly. However, my alerts are only showing up in the client. I...

Do you record 24/7 or just motion?

General consensus leads me to keep my current settings of 24/7 recording and saving my alerts. Appreciate all of the input!

Do you record 24/7 or just motion?

That is my thinking as well. My boss was just discussing how he only records the alerts this morning and got me thinking. I believe I will just leave them on 24/7, but just wanted to see what others do. Thanks for your input!

Do you record 24/7 or just motion?

As the title states, what recording method do you all use? I have all of my cameras currently recording 24/7 and saving motion alerts. I'm trying to think through a pro/con list of doing both instead of just saving the alerts which will also save me a lot of hdd space. Thoughts?

OpenALPR Tool - Save and Query CSV Exports

Quick question, you have to be running IIS? There was mention about enabling the webserver in the settings which I am confused on where that is.

Found this after I stepped in it...

We have a small island at the entrance of our subdivision and I have caught many people letting their dogs go there. I have politely posted to our facebook page asking everyone to pick up after their pets as I mow that portion and do not like to step in it. Next time I catch it, I will be...

I will give that a try..probably just play with a VM for now and see if I can get it running. I'll look for the guide as well.

I may look at this option as well, if anything just to play around. I haven't tried to set it up locally yet.

Did it come with the php front end or is that something that you wrote? I haven't looked at the open source script yet.

Thoughts on adjustments/changes? (Idiot teens inside)

Will be zooming more for sure. Also calling the electric company to see if we can get some lights put in. Our subdivision is typically very dark. Thanks for the input!

When you say beanstalked data, are you just referring to the local db file? Or what specifically?

Thoughts on adjustments/changes? (Idiot teens inside)

That is the entrance of the subdivision, we are the first house. So that is just a turnaround point. People can go straight down the road, or turn left onto another road that loops around. Either way, the new plate cam I am putting up will have almost a straight line of site to cars entering the...

Thoughts on adjustments/changes? (Idiot teens inside)

These kids rolled through the subdivision a couple nights ago hitting my mailbox with a bat, and then the stop sign as they exited. Sounds like it hurt haha. This is the first incident I have actually caught on camera and it is obvious I need some adjusting. Should I turn this camera more to...

Which version of OpenALPR are you using?

It seems like there in minimal discussion on which version/how-to for OpenALPR. I've seen some posts where people are using the open source files from Git, and a few using the cloud stream option. I am wanting to set up a LPR camera, but am not a fan of my data going to the cloud, but the...

Looking for advice on cameras for different placements.

Thanks for the response! It looks like I am unable to find those specific Dahua models. Am I missing something? Or are there more models based on membership? I'm looking for comparable models as well to get the best idea of a view.
