    I'd say if you can configure an NVR then you shouldn't have any issues installing and configuring BI. Start small. I would not use AI until you are ready. I'd say you can move one camera over and have it working in less than 2 hours.

    I have PTZ that gets motion in an area on preset 1 so I used the override zones for that preset but I still get motion alerts all the time. To prevent that I needed to modify the motion zone on the main motion tab. Shouldn't I be able to leave the zone A on the main motion tab alone?

    To work around this issue I modified zone A for the camera on the trigger tab. This is obviously not what I want since this zone will be modified for every preset. I want to modify the zone for the first preset only but when I do it gets ignored by BI so I can still use some help.

    Yes it matters how BI sees your camera. You can allow BI to analyze the camera for you but sometimes you need to manually set the model for features to work.
