computer connected to switch or router

I currently have 7 cameras all with homeruns to my POE switch. The switch is then connected to the router, and my computer running Blue Iris is also connected to the router. A recent post indicated better performance could be achieved by connecting the computer directly to the switch (instead...

    Export Hikvision camera settings

Thank you so much for the info. It worked as you described. IE is not my default browser (I use Firefox) so did not know about it's restrictions on locations to save to. I have never ran a browser in "run as administrator" mode so there may be other benefits I am overlooking. I'll do some...

    Export Hikvision camera settings

I would like to store each of my camera settings in case of future problems. I feel I'm approaching this in the right manner but have some questions. I'm using IE to access camera, configuration>system>maintenance. I assume export>device parameters is where the camera settings backup file is...

    Hide camera

I don't know what "cloning cameras" is. My objective is to create a larger viewing area on the console by eliminating two cameras that I don't need to visually monitor during the day. They are inside cameras. I only want outside cameras to appear, but I do want 24 hr recording on the inside...

    switch day and night settings

Thanks for the link..........looks like a good possible solution. I'm sure this can be done completely within BI but I can't find out how to implement it.

    switch day and night settings

I did search before posting and found many threads on scheduling but could not find specific how to's on controlling image settings.

    switch day and night settings

No ideas? Maybe this is a Blue iris solution and not a Hikvision one. Surely I'm not the only one that needs different camera settings in daytime and at night.

    switch day and night settings

Using DS-2CD2032 under Blue Iris. My image settings necessary for day and night are quite different to get a good image. Under Advanced Configuration>Image I was hoping I could change my settings at different times by using the "switch day and night settings". Will this work for me? By...

    Which version IVMS-4200

I have installed iVMS-4200 ver 2.00.11.05 that came with the 2CD2032 camera and am having difficulty setting up recording both manual and motion detection. This version appears to be dedicated to recording on remote servers. I want to have the client program and recording on the same PC. I've...

    Aliexpress cameras

So are you saying that the rule of thumb is that cameras with higher pixel ratings have poor low light performance? The 3MP Hikvision will be worse than the 2MP, and the 4MP will be worse than the 3MP. Is this low light performance enough to offset the higher daytime resolution gained through...

CPU usage and processor temp with BI

That's using TaskManager to measure, right? I don't even know another way to check cpu usage. I was expecting higher reading.

CPU usage and processor temp with BI

Processor is an i7 4790 with stock fan. Altitude about 360 feet above sea level. Ambient temp in room is generally 76F. I've got a pretty well ventilated mid-tower with 3 X 140mm fans. I'm just curious what to expect as it appears BI is really processor intensive.

CPU usage and processor temp with BI

I've notice a lot of references to somewhat high CPU usage with BI. I'm assuming this is being measured with Task Manager>Performance>CPU Usage. Right? If recording direct to disc what should one expect the CPU usage to be running 5 of the 3MP Hikvision cameras in continuous record mode...
