How to get push notifications through firewall - working finally

Hi, I was struggling to get push notifications through my firewall and had to allow my NVR access to internet which I was not happy with. Looking at my firewall logs captures i figured out whenever there was an IVS alert port TCP 2195 was getting blocked which is Apple Push notification...

@nayr @thomaswde @aristobrat Hi Guys just came across this thread whilst searching about push notifications through VPN. Seeing you had it for a while is there any chance you can share how you have had it setup? Did you have to use the P2P of the camera/NVR to get it working? Is the...

Best network security practices for new Dahua setup

i am bit worried as i had allowed my NVR access to the internet through my firewall to get P2P to work which in turn allowed the push to phone work. I was surprised to the number of outbound connections using various port and to various destinations, changed it back with no access to internet.

Idmss push, how does it work?

Ok got it working via p2p but at moment have allowed outbound from the NVR which is not ideal for security reasons. Will need to figure out the port it needs to be allowed rather than have the NVR access to the internet. Any security minded people do it any other way?

Idmss push, how does it work?

Hi guys Does anyone know how this is meant to work, can't get it to work and not sure what to look at. I currently have idmss plus connected to my NVR via local IP address, will this work? Does it need any other kind of setup? Does it talk to a cloud somewhere as currently I don't allow any...

    IPC-HDW5231R-Z Settings help

Same setup connected to NVR. I mean directly as in setting up via IP address rather than NVR. I suspect cabling too so will do the crimping again and test it out with the tools. Thanks Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

    IPC-HDW5231R-Z Settings help

Hi, So i have managed to install 3 out of the 6 cameras running all default at moment. Am i best configuring the image directly on the camera or via the NVR? If directly will the NVR overwrite it? Any pointers in terms of frame rates, bit rates, and compression? Can anyone share their...

    EmpireTecAndy fast DHL shipping!!

It was guaranteed as Andy first ships it to Netherlands from China not sure how but you can not track that bit. Your tracking (UPS) will only start after it reaches Netherlands and clears customs. Your parcel will look like it came from the EU and not china hence no tax or VAT.

    EmpireTecAndy fast DHL shipping!!

@EMPIRETECANDY My parcel will be delivered today according to tracking total 9 days. Not bad considering it is to UK, tax free with slow delivery

    Dahua Starlight Varifocal Turret (IPC-HDW5231R-Z)

Another quick question, is the bottom mount independent of how the camera will be placed? I mean do I need to make sure on how I want to place the camera before mounting or is that something I can adjust once the mount is up? Thanks Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

    Dahua Starlight Varifocal Turret (IPC-HDW5231R-Z)

can anyone be kind enough to confirm what the dimensions are between the three mounting screws on the camera? I am just wondering whether this will mount in the same location as where i had the hikvision-ds-2cd2732 or will i need to drill more points for this. Thanks

    Time to get started.

As mentioned previously you need all cameras and NVR to switch and just one cable from switch to router, that's it. This should still allow access remotely although you will need to do configuration on router to allow this. Thanks Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

    Time to get started.

Not sure on your equipment locations but ideally you want the NVR and cameras in one switch if possible although not necessary. Just remember to have one cable from switch to router or else you will create loops in network. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Plug the NVR and the cameras to the switch, from the switch to the router. Thanks Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

    Dahua NVR5216-4KS2 / NVR5216-16P-4KS2

Hi i believe this Mod is for the normal fan, issue with the POE NVR is the fan within the PSU which is noisy. Replacing the fan is not an issue but you still need to make sure it is still having enough circulation of air as before to avoid degrading of the NVR. I hope yours is OK as you are...

    Dahua NVR5216-4KS2 / NVR5216-16P-4KS2

@giomania Hi just wondering if you swapped the fans in NVR with the Noctua fans and what the end result was? I am thinking of swapping the internal fan and also adding additional outside running at 5v. Thanks

Is this possible with a Dahua NVR

Thanks for confirming, I will get the above working and probably use the spare POE switch I have. I wanted to confirm if above would work as a backup in case I had issue with the switch. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Is this possible with a Dahua NVR

What if my network was in the same range as the IP segment of the POE range? Can we change this range assigned? I am able to create vlans on switches and do inter-vlan routing via my firewall. I guess this would be possible provided i have a connection to my switch on one of the POE ports?

Is this possible with a Dahua NVR

Hi, I have just placed an order with Andy for my cams and NVR. I have moved from Hikvision and i was able to access the cameras directly using the inbuilt POE of the NVR. I had configured all the cameras with a static IP address on my network and had configured the NVR camera...

View recording off HDD without NVR

Hi, i am just wondering, is it possible to view recording off the HDD without the NVR? I no longer have the NVR and haven't as yet connected the HDD to the PC so not sure what format to expect and whether i will be able to view through the PC. Any ideas? Thanks
