    Turning the gain down stops the flashing and improves the image but now it can't see across the street except the reflection of the IR.

    I have. The only thing I found to improve the image was to push the 3D DNR to 100 but then there is not enough IR. Image is too dark.

    Here is another episode of the flashing night vision! Also displays how Hit-or-Miss the 4x is at night as to focusing. Very inconsistent. Did not experience the flashing at all, yesterday.

    Decided to give this a quick color job. Disassembly was pretty easy. Used a little silicone grease on all the o-rings. Just make sure you mark one set of the motor wires and connector. The color codes are the same. You'll know if you switched them as soon as it starts the POST.

    I pushed the 3D DNR to 100 and it did get significantly better BUT not enough IR power. I've also found that the focus is going wacky after certain adjustments. Enough for one night!

    Here are side-by-sides of the Hik 4525, the 4x and the 10x. Although nothing to really focus on, you can see the noise difference. Obvious difference in IR power too.

    Mounted my 4x outside tonight. Here is a sample image. I have nothing mounted in the same area to compare it to but by far the worst I have experienced. These are all stock settings.

    Installing the latest firmware introduces the bad focus issue, which is easily corrected. It did slightly help with the red screen during the switch from day to night mode.

    Just received an interesting reply from Monica regarding my red, grainy screen when switching from day to night mode. She wants me to try the same procedure she gave others to fix the focus issue. It will be interesting if it corrects the issue.

    I'll have to check that. Mine still seems to be working okay other than the fuzzy red screen when switching from night to day. I thought the IRs were flashing on and off but I was able to confirm that is not the case. Not too interested in changing anything just yet. I'll post a pic of it...

    On my 10x, the only way I could change the password was through the camera's UI. SADP would not allow me to change it but it would allow me to change IP. Just looked at my 4x and it does not allow me to change the admin's level.

    I was referring to Preset 95. When I call it, it is a Chinese Menu. The rest of the UI is in English.

    I have my 4x temporarily mounted in the basement and have noticed, when the lights are switched off, the IR flashes on and off until it switches to night mode. There is a little light through the windows but not much.Not sure what my sensitivity is set at. Can't say I've noticed that with the 10x.

    The path is slightly different for each camera. camera_no= Mine are 1, 2 and 3. The Blue Iris tab must be for reference.

    There should NOT be a space between w and o in password. It is doing that when I hit save.......
