Having trouble adding new camera to NVR

I've been using the user/pass for the webgui and the user/pass for the Smartpss app. Ugh. LOL.

Having trouble adding new camera to NVR

Ok, I had to delete it first (otherwise it just went back to using the same port). The first one is the one I unplugged and plugged back in. Unfortunately, when I click on the blue icon I can't get past the login screen because it won't take any password I put in.

Will do. Should I delete them first?

Having trouble adding new camera to NVR

I can access the web GUI but it won't take any password when I click the blue button. Also, it's showing two of the new camera (See below). Every time I delete and then add again, 2 show up. We're getting close though! It looks like with the others I can't even get to the log in screen...

Having trouble adding new camera to NVR

I'm making progress! The camera now appears with a green dot but I can't access it with the "e" browser as it won't accept any of my passwords. Not sure why. I've tried all combos but I'm getting locked out. The default for the camera should be admin/admin, right? I've tried that and...

Having trouble adding new camera to NVR

Excellent. Thanks for this. Question: my username/password for SMARTPSS on my laptop and for connecting via web are different. Which one will be the one I should assign to the camera?

Having trouble adding new camera to NVR

I have a Dauha NVR and 5 Dahua cameras already set up. I'm adding a Loryta camera. I have the camera added in the NVR and I can see it in webview but there's a red dot and I can't see the video. I can't figure out what I need to do. I don't see anywhere I can initialize it and I'm only...

Please don't flame me! Anything better than the Dahua app?

Mine is only showing one at a time. See how the rest of the cameras are showing night.

Please don't flame me! Anything better than the Dahua app?

I'm using the new DMSS app. There is a way to list motion clips but: 1. It doesn't list by the actual time (see below). 2. It can only show one camera at a time so there's no way to see all motion events.

Please don't flame me! Anything better than the Dahua app?

I just had a Dahua NVR and 5 cameras installed around my vacation home. Previously, I had Blink cameras. I like being able to quickly look at motion events to see what has been happening when I'm away (deliveries, contractors, etc.). With Blink it gave a list of "events" for all cameras and I...

Motion detection question: Dahua NVR and cameras

Should I get varifocal or fixed with some of these long views? I'd like to be able to get motion detection up the driveway.

Motion detection question: Dahua NVR and cameras

Thank you! This is very helpful. I was getting confused with all the different numbers. So, the N45DJ62 is a "5442" model. Sounds like that's a good one to get.

Motion detection question: Dahua NVR and cameras

Thank you for that info (about it being discontinued). I suggested the camera you recommended. DH-IPC-HDW5442T-ZE We'll see what he says. :-)

Motion detection question: Dahua NVR and cameras

There are so many cameras!! He's telling me that I had the camera wrong that he wants to install the N43AJ52. I'm still not really sure about a lot of this but I'm pretty sure the 5442 camera that you've been talking about is better than this still.

Motion detection question: Dahua NVR and cameras

Thanks for this! How does the 5442 compare to the one he originally quoted (the N44BG52)?

Motion detection question: Dahua NVR and cameras

Thank you for this. I will check it out. Excellent. Thank you! I'm going to look at the specs compared to the one they quoted. Can you tell me what differences you think were the most important (I'm trying to learn....)?

Motion detection question: Dahua NVR and cameras

Thank you all for the advice. I've been reading more about the cameras but I have to admit that I don't understand a lot of what I'm reading. I wish I had more time to devote. This isn't for my home, it's for my vacation home in Florida. If it was my home I'd probably take more time and build...

Motion detection question: Dahua NVR and cameras

I think the original system he quoted would be better: N52B2P NVR N44BG52 cameras

Motion detection question: Dahua NVR and cameras

You can't see the Ring through the NVR, correct? You just see it on your phone and the video is in the cloud, right? Any fee?

Motion detection question: Dahua NVR and cameras

The rep is now suggesting that I get this package because I added the doorbell camera. 8-Channel Video Doorbell Security System The NVR is different and the cameras too.

Motion detection question: Dahua NVR and cameras

They don't sell anything below 4mp (that I see). I do have the choice of 2.8 or 3.6 mm. Thanks for the attachment. Reading.

Motion detection question: Dahua NVR and cameras

I don't want to get alerts but I'd like to be able to look at the days video and see when motion was detected so I can look at those events. Will that work? I'll check out that camera.

Motion detection question: Dahua NVR and cameras

Thanks. They quoted the 2.8mm. Not sure they sell the 2mp but I'll check. What kind of motion detect range can I expect with these cams?

Motion detection question: Dahua NVR and cameras

The NVR is model N52B2P. The cameras are 4mp starlight eyeball (not sure the model). EDIT: Looks like the cameras are N44BG52. Wonder if I should invest in 4k?

Motion detection question: Dahua NVR and cameras

I'm having a local vendor install a system in my house. I'd like to be able to see motion detection events on the NVR or an app. When I asked the vendor about it he said that they don't set them up for motion detection and that would be something extra. Does that seem right? Can't all NVRs log...

Intermittent Disconnecting 3 cameras. Any Troubleshooting Tools?

I put two of the wireless IP cameras on a separate Unifi AP where they are the only clients on the network (I wired the 3rd one). So far, no problems at all. Thanks for the tips, everyone!

Intermittent Disconnecting 3 cameras. Any Troubleshooting Tools?

Thanks for the tips. Am I correct they can be on the same access points as my other clients but I just have to have a separate ssd network for them? Of course, my Synology RT2600AC can't do that.... Grr...

Intermittent Disconnecting 3 cameras. Any Troubleshooting Tools?

Well, you were exactly right! I removed one camera and haven't had a disconnect since. That's crazy that 3 cameras will saturate the network. I never would have thought that would be an issue....
