camera recommendation in addition to color4k-t180

I just bought the color4k-B180 for the exact purpose you mentioned. I have other cams in B&W to get me the shots I need. With that said, I know you say run in auto.. 1. ) In the image settings under "working mode" do I select "Self adaptive?" 2. ) Leave exposure to "Auto" I know we never do...

    S3 animal detection

I spoke too soon... When I turned off AcuPick I did not hit "Next" the first time. The second time I hit "Next" and a pop up appeared, (see below) and then the camera restarted and now I am able to choose IVS with AcuPick NOT enabled.

    S3 animal detection

On my new NVR8CH-8P-2AI with latest firmware, when I create a "Smart PLan", AcuPick is enabled by default with IVS and Metadata which you cannot turn off either of those. If you turn off AcuPick, then you do not have the abilty to enable any of the options below it like IVS, at least this is my...

    S3 animal detection

FYI I am new to all this as this is my first NVR, (only had andy's EmpireTech NVR8CH-8P-2AI 8) with several T54IR-S3 and B54IR Z4E-S3. I updated all hardware to the newest firmware off of Andys site. With that said, I have all the cameras setup pretty much like @StevenFromTexas. My cameras are...

OK sir. I will keep angling the camera to the right a bit and capture some plates and report back. I do have an easy ability to add IR at this location. Tix for input.

Oh, OK. I did not even listen to the video with sound so I wasn’t sure what you’re talking about. Lol I will change that setting. Any thoughts on the position for potential capturing plates at night?

Aight @wittaj @bigredfish, change of plans for the Z4E maybe.....LOL I think I might have found a spot for it to identify plates....fingers crossed! What do you think of the daytime shot? Does you think it has potential at night? I am at full zoom right now. Capture is as cars are approaching...

Thanks for the suggestions. I can run another cable which I knew my dumb ass should have done in the first place...Stupid mistake. Lastly ( I swear last question for now....lol) I have attached one more video. This is my front porch which faces north. Good amount of shade until early...

    Mini-Review - 5442-Z4E-S3 AKA B54IR-Z4E S3 - Replacement to the 5442-Z4E

Thanks for the reply. On that Z4, I am running 0-4 shutter, but I can increase gain and try to add a IR illuminator and see if that helps . I thought of screwing with the HLC, but I did read it darkens images so I was worried about that. I'll keep fiddling and see what I can do. Thanks!

    Mini-Review - 5442-ZE-S3 AKA T54IR-ZE-S3 - Replacement to 5442-ZE

OK. Makes sense. I’ll try running the slower shutter for now. Lastly on an unrelated note in terms of cabling. I have a cable that runs from Andys 8 ch 5 series PoE NVR to one of my cameras. I’m thinking about putting an additional cam right next to that existing camera. Am I able to put a POE...

    Mini-Review - 5442-ZE-S3 AKA T54IR-ZE-S3 - Replacement to 5442-ZE

Makes sense. I’ll zoom that Z4 in tonight and see what sort of image I can get with it. I may have enough light to run my overview 5442 in color to try to capture some color images since I have enough IR cameras to get what I need from them. What basic settings do I need to set for that to run...

    Mini-Review - 5442-ZE-S3 AKA T54IR-ZE-S3 - Replacement to 5442-ZE

Gotcha.. Yes the Smart IR works well as people walk up the driveway at night.. I can IDENTIFY well which I think is my goal for those two driveway cams as they approach the house. The "overwatch" camera that is higher up prob not much real use at night since its zoomed all the way out. Its...

Yea, i meant light or dark colored car (not actual colors). Just trying to clean up the IR image I posted. Like Witt said i need more IR light and a few other things, at least that's how I understand it.

Comments from my 5442 post "OK, I guess I didn't think of distinguishing the objectives of the different cameras. For the 5442's in my driveway, I think I would want to focus on IDENTIFY a person coming toward the house. I did not post a video of that but I took one i think and it was pretty...

Thanks for the replying. I should have been more clear... I am not trying to capture license plates. Maybe in the future, but for now, just an overview in that FOV trying to capture general color and style of vehicle.

    Mini-Review - 5442-ZE-S3 AKA T54IR-ZE-S3 - Replacement to 5442-ZE

Good morning, I have a 3 of these cameras (2 turrets and one bullet which is the one at the higher height in the videos) that I am trying to tweak the nighttime moving vehicles captures. Vehicles are moving 20-30mph and the turrets are fully zoomed and the bullet is not zoomed at all. All on...

    B54IR-Z4E-S3 Iris Setting

Oh, ok. I have the T54IR-ZE-S3 like the author here but did not see the iris control option like he had, but I was using chrome. When I get home, I will try in IE and see if the option to control the iris level pops up.
