[tool] [tutorial] Free AI Person Detection for Blue Iris

Use a non-standard port like 82 or something. I have found using port 80 can cause weird conflicts since that the normal web server port.

[tool] [tutorial] Free AI Person Detection for Blue Iris

Welp @GentlePumpkin I broke something and I cannot figure out what the deal is. A few days ago I started getting sporadic error messages in telegram, but most images came through just fine. ERROR: Processing the following image 'C:\BlueIris\AI_Input/AiFP.20200221_180930905.jpg' failed. Can't...

Acquired a i7 usff optiplex. No 3.5" bay. USB to external?

If you can drill holes in the case and mount HDD's externally then something like this might work. https://www.amazon.com/Port-Controller-AsMedia-ASM1061-Chipset/dp/B009WN7QTE Really though a full size case will just be better.

[tool] [tutorial] Free AI Person Detection for Blue Iris

Hey everyone! So I just read through the whole thread and have a few questions. 1. Has anyone tried running the AI in something like a Raspberry Pi and having it watch a folder in your VMS pc? I think I have enough overhead on my VMS to run the AI, but offloading it would be nice for adding...

Feedback on Potential Blue Iris Server

The RX550 won't do you any good since you are most likely going to use intel quicksync. Ask for no HDD or graphics card and more of a discount lol

Wow that is quite drastic! Was the original 8 GB completely utilized before? Color me surprised that is makes that much of a difference.

@mincient That is the exact model and specs. I have a 256gb Patriot Scorch M.2 drive in there. It works like a dream.

    Temporary solution cameras recording

Run a site to site VPN and have BI at home record the cameras. Would be a ton of bandwidth haha, but it could work. Beyond that, you could use a free option like milestone xprotect or iSpy (which is crappy) on the local i5 machine for the temp cameras.

Feedback on Potential Blue Iris Server

@mincient No worries! I went through this same process about a year ago getting a system off the ground for myself. I don't know that it is mentioned in the newb guide, but I have 2 cameras (one from each side of the house) saving footage to purple drive 1 and 2 cameras (again one from each side...

Feedback on Potential Blue Iris Server

I have two purple drives that I split my cameras over so if one fails I still have at least half my footage, but you can get up to 12TB purple drives ( they cost more than your PC though lol) The G4 TL 1096r posted does PCI slots (16x, 4x and 2 - 1x slots as shown on page 24 of this HP manual -...

Feedback on Potential Blue Iris Server

@mincient You might also consider an higher end 8-9th gen i5 for the system. They tend to go pretty cheap in full size cases. I really don't think you would have a problem running 10 2mp cameras on that CPU.

Feedback on Potential Blue Iris Server

That PC looks okay. No need for the Nvidia GPU. My only caveat with the PC you selected is hard drives. You are typically limited to one 3.5" HDD and maybe another 2.5" SSD/HDD. If you need long storage times for 10 camera's then you are going to have to be creating when it comes to onboard...

    Cheap NVR Reco Plz

Well the areas' that will be monitored are pretty secluded so any motion of reasonable size would be beneficial. But we will have to cross that bridge when we get there! Thanks for the help and sorry again for the confusion!

    Cheap NVR Reco Plz

Okay will I feel like an idiot! I took IVS to mean all motion based recording, DOH! My mistake. As long as I can do simple motion detection with maybe a push alert or two and live viewing from an app that is all he will need. Sorry for my misunderstand and dragging this out longer than this...

    Cheap NVR Reco Plz

The Dahua website states "Record Mode Manual, Schedule(Regular(Continuous), MD), Stop" -Assumung MD means Motion Detection. Which matches "Record Mode Manual, Schedule (Regular (Continuous), MD, Alarm), Stop" of every Pro NVR I looked at. Maybe I am missing something or they just listed them...
