    Illegal login alerts

I have been getting alot of illegal login alerts on my HikVision cameras, and I am not quite sure why. Looking at the logs I can see the illegal logins are from remote host 37.72.28.53 and IP address which is not recognised on my local network. Doing a quick search on google shows this is from...

    GMAIL Failure? Anyone Else?

Has the SSL issue for Gmail been resolved by new firmware for the NVR? I have NVR DS-7608NI/E2/8P/A which is currently running firmware v3.4.62 build 160503 and looking on HikVision firmware website this is the latest version for my NVR.

    GMAIL Failure? Anyone Else?

I was using Gmail in the UK but it has since stopped working, likely due to the SSL certifications mentioned in this thread. I have a 5 camera setup, with often alot of activity so need an email service that will allow more than 1000 emails a month. Is anyone aware of an email provider that I...

    Unexplained breaks in recording

How did you get on with this after you did a factory reset and upgraded firmware? Do you still get the breaks in the continuous recording? I factory reset my NVR and the upgraded to v3.4.6 build 160405 (DS-7608NI-E2/8P). The first couple of days the recordings have been continious with no...

    GMAIL Failure? Anyone Else?

This has happened to me today. No settings or configurations have been changed on the NVR, it just randomly stopped sending emails. I have tried to send a test email from the NVR but it fails. I have logged onto the gmail account from my PC to check if the 'allow less secure apps' was switched...

    Expert Motion Detection

I prefer the intrustion detection, as it allows you to set the number of seconds an object is in a defined area, which cuts down any false detections. Only downside is that the documentation says you can set upto 4 areas but I only have the option to set 1. Is this expected? Also, I am still...

    Expert Motion Detection

Re: Expert Motion Detection / Instursion Detection Thanks, I think I will need a new router to do the static route mapping as the Virgin Media SuperHub2 has no such functionality. In the meanwhile, I have decided to use the 'Intrusion Detection' functionality which allows you to set the same...

    Expert Motion Detection

That makes alot more sense, I can see the internal IP address which is 192.168.255.1, i have set the default gateway on the cameras to 192.168.255.1 but emails from the camera are still not working. Is there something I need to do on my router?

    Expert Motion Detection

The NVR has the below settings: IPv4 address: 192.168.0.9 IPv4 Subnet Mask: 255.255.255.0 IPv4 Default Gateway: 192.168.0.1 Preferred DNS Server: 8.8.4.4 Alternate DNS Server: 8.8.8.8 Should I change the NVR's IPv4 address to 192.168.254.1 and then set the default gateway on the camera to this?

    Expert Motion Detection

So, I have been trying to get the emails from the IP camera itself working but I'm not having any luck. The IP cameras are connected to the NVR, and the NVR is connected to my SuperHub2 router. The network settings on the NVR are as below: IPv4 address: 192.168.0.9 IPv4 Subnet Mask...

    Expert Motion Detection

That is correct, all my cameras connect directly to the NVR. I presume I will need to setup the cameras on the internet as in the below links? https://www.ipcamtalk.com/showthread.php/10182-Possible-to-send-emails-by-camera-connected-to-NVR...

    Expert Motion Detection

I currently have setup motion detection via my NVR (7608NI) and it sends out email notifications. However, this does pick up alot of false detections so I want to use the Expert motion detection on the camera itself. I have setup the motion detection directly on my camera and set it to send...

    Unexplained breaks in recording

I am running 3.4.2 also but still get the breaks. Are you able to provide a link from where you downloaded the firmware? Also was there any specific steps you took for the install? I've heard your meant to do a full reset after an upgrade as recommended by HikVision (which I didn't do).

    Unexplained breaks in recording

Chances that both our HDD being messed are slim. I think it is more probable that this might be caused by a software issue. Has anyone else noticed the issue after upgrading firmware?

Setting up email alerts on HikVision NVR

Thanks for the reply. I have tried this already but with no luck. I suspect it is related to the below: https://www.ipcamtalk.com/showthread.php/7812-Hikvision-DS-7608NI-E2-w-firmware-v3-4-not-sending-email-alerts I currently have NVR DS-7608NI-E2/8P/A which is on firmware V4.3.0, Build...
