    Pole mount

Your NVR typically has a fan or two to cool it. The barn might let more dust and bugs into the NVR, depending of course on your setup. I would want an WiFi AP in the barn, which would require a PoE switch in the barn. What tool did you use to trench?

    Multiple Cameras on Multiple Monitors

Presumably a single monitor with 16 cams won’t work. If you are going to buy 4 monitors, why would you not get 4K ones? You can then display 4 1920x1080 feeds. Please describe what you are recommending along with the link to buy.

    Multiple Cameras on Multiple Monitors

What $100 PC runs Windows and can drive 4 4K monitors? Seems a high end NUC is $800. To work with any cam you probably want BI.

    Multiple Cameras on Multiple Monitors

Amcrest has their Video Wall functionality built into their PC apps. I think it's free and works with most cameras. You could connect four monitors to one PC, run four videos feeds per monitor. Buying four low end NVRs would probably cost less than a dedicated PC and cost less as well. You...

License Plates logger for a LPR-enabled camera

What are the uses for having a long record of license plates? In addition to the plate, do you record an image of the vehicle? I have a short list of known plates, so when someone I know arrives in the driveway I can have Alexa announce the person's name.

    Sympathy for Racoons?

Opossums are marsupials, or pouched mammals, and are related to the kangaroo and the koala. The opossum holds the distinction of being North America's only marsupial.

A reason to add one more camera

I can't fault the carpenter for the install. The fire department usually hits right at the door plate with ram. I would have thought thieves would have broken the side glass and opened the door. Something was going to break. The repair bill to reattach the frame might be less than the cost of...

Yet another new lorex Costco kit. 4k IP Fusion + alarm kit

I purchased the Costco Lorex kit six months ago - before the Fusion Kit. I set everything up in my basement first, so I tested everything before mounting the cameras. The wizard makes you name the cameras on startup, which resulted me in needing to rename them all of the system was setup. In...

    DYI setup

Thought a few people might be interested in my setup. I have 4k Lorex IP camera over my garage to watch my driveway. It's a little high, but I use it to watch for packages, critters, etc.. I have a Jetson Nano using a custom YoloV2 model to detect when a vehicle is in frame. When it sees a...

Lorex Smart Deterrence IP Camera siren API

I have eight lorex cams setup and use them to detect deer trying to eat my garden. These cameras all have a siren built into them which is plenty loud. I’d like for when the camera sees a deer for it to turn on the siren. I’ve read through the dahua api manuals and can’t find anything related to...
