Can you be more specific with the 'why', please?

Solar charged battery for Reolink RLC-510A Wireless Camera

Has anyone tested one of these as the power source for a Reolink RLC-510A (or similar) wireless camera? https://www.amazon.com/dp/B087QFT9DW/ The Reolink specifies 12v @ 1A - so it should, in theory, work. WDYT? Thanks!

How to resolve night fuzziness on cam?

Slightly beyond, especially the top. Should I paint the overlapping edges flat black to stop the reflections?

How to resolve night fuzziness on cam?

OK, just went out and tried that - oddly, no effect at all. Is this just a typical artifact of night view with this sort of camera?

How to resolve night fuzziness on cam?

This is a Loryta Outdoor 4MP Ultra Low Light Starlight+ Camera I'm guessing that the circular fuzziness is moisture gathering on the lens? Is something like Rain-X effective and safe for the camera? Or, should I install a small solar charged, battery powered, fan? Thanks.

What about this relabeled (Grade B Dahua) one for watching clouds, planes, satellite trains (e.g. Starlink), and weather? The 6mm lens model with the leds disabled? https://www.amazon.com/Loryta-IPC-T5442TM-AS-Starlight-Eyeball-Network/dp/B07S2196R9/ Min. Illumination : 0.0007 lux @ F1.6...

Crappy footage of a Meteorite and explosion last night, now I need FOVs for the sky...

Is there an affordable alternative to the 4k/t you used - or should I just expect some burn-in and deal with it? What about potential fogging of the lens, or moisture problems, it may need to be tilted up a little for sky & weather watching?

Crappy footage of a Meteorite and explosion last night, now I need FOVs for the sky...

So, the Ubiquity requires 24vdc but the Reolink 12vdc - so, either two separate power sources or else use a dc-dc converter for the second voltage?

Crappy footage of a Meteorite and explosion last night, now I need FOVs for the sky...

Wow, that's an impressive view. So, if burn-in is a problem, what camera would you recommend, instead? Also, what about an affordable camera for sky/weather gazing? BTW: I got the recommended unbranded 'Dahua' eyeball network camera online - it does a nice job of zooming to the driveway to ID...

Let's take the switch out of the mix and design for a single Reolink RLC-510A.

Crappy footage of a Meteorite and explosion last night, now I need FOVs for the sky...

So, I just need to put 24vdc on Pairs 4, 5+ and 7, 8 - ? Or, might that mess up the camera?

Crappy footage of a Meteorite and explosion last night, now I need FOVs for the sky...

OK, so, all that's needed is the camera, the Ubiquiti, two short lengths of Cat6 - both connected to the "POE" box. (We'll need to add a solar panel, charge controller, & a 24v battery pack.)

The TL-SG105 only needs a 5vdc power source. I'm a little confused about the remote Ubiquiti LocoM2 2-PACK Nanostation LocoM2 AirMax Outdoor PoE device. It doesn't require a lan cable, does it? Just a 24vdc power source for itself and the camera?

Cool! What would you recommend as a remote site weather-resistant switch, please? For testing I could use a tp-link TL-SG105 that I just remembered that I have.

"Ubiquiti Nano wireless Lan solution" ... Can a camera connect directly to a Ubiquiti LocoM2 2-PACK Nanostation LocoM2 AirMax Outdoor PoE CPE 2.4GHz 5+km and be viewed via a router connection at the other end? Or, is something like a little RaspberryPi or an inovato Quadra computer required at...

New Reolink Wired POE Doorbell Cam ?

Ain't no fun in that! lol Amateur Radio is a hobby and many of us like to adapt things. I sure appreciate everyone's help.

New Reolink Wired POE Doorbell Cam ?

@David L - Cool. Would it have any impact on data signal quality? (As I understand POE it shares data lines then the power is blocked from entering the data circuitry - the power is diverted to the appropriate area).

New Reolink Wired POE Doorbell Cam ?

Yes, I'd attach the power from the provided power supply somewhere further up the CAT 6 line - where AC power is more readily available. Thanks.

Future alternatives in the same device. I'll rig an adapter to make it do as I need it to do. It's more fun that way anyhow.

New Reolink Wired POE Doorbell Cam ?

Sigh. The Wifi works, and I want that option, but they really should have implemented both. It's mounted on a metal exterior wall, so it's a pain to implement a separate power source. I'll have to run a pair of wires alongside the CAT 6 (inside the wire cover shells) to carry the power. The...

New Reolink Wired POE Doorbell Cam ?

Just got cable run for data and POE to where the Wifi version is mounted. I may have misunderstood this from DavidL "Not to confuse you but the WiFi version support both WiFi And Wired (Just not POE)." I thought it mean that the Wifi model, at a higher price, will do Wifi with wall-wart or...

New Reolink Wired POE Doorbell Cam ?

@DavidL "Have you connected an ethernet cable from the DB to your router or switch that the router is on with the port being able to assign an IP via DHCP?" OK, so I need to connect the Reolink DB to the router. Then I need to turn Wifi back on (on my notebook pc) and use the Reolink "client"...

New Reolink Wired POE Doorbell Cam ?

I'll have a look at that, thanks. If I recall, correctly, your method avoided the Reolink app & potential phone-home? (I've probably read 100+ pages of forums and how-to's over the past few days, so keeping them straight in my head is impossible.)
  28. K

New Reolink Wired POE Doorbell Cam ?

Yes. I can access the streams from my laptop or from the keyboard & monitor connected to the NVR. I can also access the streams from other apps (ContaCam, Camlytics, etc.)

New Reolink Wired POE Doorbell Cam ?

No re. the Reolink app. I'm actually planning to initially try to get our Cobra NVR to recognize and display it (I have Reolink and Cobra cams on it now). Later, the plan is to manage them via BSD or Linux.
