How to physically upgrade lens on Hikvision DS-2CD2T32

Does anyone know how, or can point me toward information on how I can physically change the lens on my DS-2CD2T32-i5. Because I purchased it from Alibaba, Hikvision USA will not even allow me to talk with Technical support. I have looked for any information online, but so far have come up...

    Dedicated License Plate Cam project

Damn.. I may have the wrong camera then... I have a Hikvision DS-2CD2T32-I8. It only has Digital WDR. I am going to experiment with turning it on and adjusting it between 1 - 100 (Wide Dynamic Level). No idea what that will do though.

Thank you for the response cam235. I can manually schedule the day/Night settings and will experiment with those to see the results! Thanks again.

    Dedicated License Plate Cam project

Ok, I have daytime license plate capture (LPC) working.. I now have nightime LPC working (MANY thanks nayr and pozzello!!) I am now trying to figure out how to get legible license plates during dusk and dawn. I experimented with nighttime settings of Brightness, Contrast and Sharpness. I will...

Pics from last night. Much improved based on setting changes (thanks again pozzello!). More experiments and refinement to go!

    Dedicated License Plate Cam project

pozzello, thank you! I am definitely getting "fuzzy" "blurry" captures right now, just like you say. So, I just set updated the settings to 25% on both Contrast and Gain. I really need to build that test setup recommended by nayr so that I don't have to wait for passing vehicles to find out....

    Dedicated License Plate Cam project

Thought I'd pass on a "slightly related" technical issue that FINALLY got resolved.... My Hikvision camera that is dedicated to capturing license plates would not allow me to make any configuration changes. I won't go into the months I spent researching and trying different options. I called...

Here is picture capture number 1. It actually is a readable license plate! I am definitely on the way to getting this to work correctly!

Ok, the first experiment starts this evening. I hooked the new IR Illuminator is now taped on top of my License Plate Capture camera. The camera is still set at 1/1000 (vs 1/500), and the frame capture is a larger than it needs to be. I need to wait for my standalone POE switch to arrive...

    Dedicated License Plate Cam project

Pozello, thank you for the response. I definitely have tried both IE and recently tried Chrome. I added a couple of screen shots showing that it is set on 1/1000 for night exposure, then I select 1/500 but there is no "save" option displayed below. On every other option change, such as "start...

Wow! That is just too cool. I went down a different path and simply tried to do License Plate Capture. This does force me to look for car pictures/videos during a specific timescale, then zoom in on the captured image/video to personally read the plates. We have helped bust two burglaries in...

Oh! That makes sense.... I am using BlueIris exclusively... I like OpenALPR and will read up on it. Thanks again!

    Dedicated License Plate Cam project

I like it! Thank you, I will give that a try! How did you get the "frame of view" to be so small? I tried to do that within Blue Iris, but the image captured and video captured stayed the same as the camera view (larger than required to capture just the license plate).

The IR light finally arrived from China. (your recommended purchase of: https://www.aliexpress.com/item/CCTV...408878337.html ) I'm having a heck of a time with my Hikvision DS-2CD2T32-i8. I'm unable to get the exposure rate to be 1/500. Currently, it is set to common (manual), Daytime 1/2000...

Help with Sound on Hikvision DS-2CD2732F-I(S) camera

Unfortunately, the only camera I hooked up with a mic and speakers (front door camera), I did run power to. So I figure the microphone is grabbing power from the camera itself, since all I did was plug the mic into the connector marked "microphone". It may not be easy, but I bet you will be...

Help with Sound on Hikvision DS-2CD2732F-I(S) camera

Yes, definitely. I picks up conversation as people approach the door (20' away) but works great at the regular 10' to 5' distances.

Help with Sound on Hikvision DS-2CD2732F-I(S) camera

That is a very good question, unfortunately I do not know the answer. My installation was outside my front door, so I ran the power cord down the inside of that exterior wall, and put a plug at the bottow (on the inside wall of the house). Gave me the power I needed to be sure.

Damn, I have been doing quite a few things wrong for sure! Current configuration: One camera is mounted up on the side of a large tree. The other is on the opposite side in a "bird house". Both are easily 20-30 feet diagonal from where I placed the external light sources. The external light...

Thanks nayr. I have ordered the IR illuminator and will try the 1/500 rate. It will probably be quite some time before the light arrives (china shipping), but I will report back.

    Dedicated License Plate Cam project

That night time picture of the license plate is exactly what I'm trying to achieve, alright! The external wide angle illumination is easily 10 to 15 feet from the front of the passing vehicles. What frame rate do you have the capture set to? Is it slower than my 1/1000 or 1/2000 at night...

Thank you for your replies. I may be doing something else wrong then. So far I have been experimenting over a couple years, and have not found the proper settings/solutions yet. Note: The cameras themselves IR lights are highly visible as you drive toward them at night. (I wish this wasnt...

    Dedicated License Plate Cam project

I am in need of advice. I'm looking for an IP Camera that has 940nm IR (so that the IR is not visible to the human eye) and can capture License Plates at night. Currently, I have two cameras dedicated to License plate capture as part of my larger 12 camera BlueIris security system. They work...

    Eliminating video anomalies...

I only seem to have two more items I am trying to resolve. This one is when video captured by Blue Iris will have "traces" of the picture, that actually blur the image over a period of time in the playback of the video. I can't seem to find rhyme nor reason for this. It doesn't always happen...

Help with Sound on Hikvision DS-2CD2732F-I(S) camera

Speaker out problem solved. I am embarrassed to admit, but the issue was a bad wire. The "speaker out" wire from the block was stripped back, but was too short to make a proper contact. I removed the camera, put it back on the bench and ran the tests. I removed the two wires (ground and...

Help with Sound on Hikvision DS-2CD2732F-I(S) camera

You would think so, but of course I had to go and complicate things... My Security PC has two NIC cards. One to attach to my regular network (the 192.168.1.x) and a second NIC that connects to my Security side (192.168.100.x). This isolates the traffic from the security cameras from my house...

Help with Sound on Hikvision DS-2CD2732F-I(S) camera

I personally am a long time Blue Iris user and fan. I'm very happy with the new 64bit version and it providing my ability to start using all of my cameras on the same PC. My CPU is running at around 37%, memory 3.75Gb (of 8gb) and running 10 cameras. My maximum camera use is 15 when I go on...

Help with Sound on Hikvision DS-2CD2732F-I(S) camera

Thanks fenderman, you are definitely correct that I need to take this next test. My problem has been the configuration of my Security PC. (something I definitely need to change). I built the Security PC to be dedicated to running Blue Iris. I did not add speakers or microphone to the...
