    How many cameras everyone running?

There's never to much cameras! Currently I have 10 cameras running. I have a few (more than a few) that I haven't installed yet, but when I finally will install them I'll be running 18. And.. That's my next 'problem' as my NVR only has 16 channels. So, i'm looking at either buy a 32 ch NVR or...

    New LPR(ANPR) Camera From Dahua

I got a price from Official European channels and it was in the same price range as the 7442H-Z4, 750€ / 900$. So, hopefully Andy would be able to offer in the 500$ range.

Dahua NVR - black pause after IVS event

I've had the same issue before, for me it works now that I changed the settings for recording, Main stream is now set to auto and substream to manual. For some reason when I had main on manual (always on, right?) the events where recorded in sub.

Got my front door/delivery cam up and wondering Face vs Human detection on 5442

Hi, Ok, let's take a step back now to check the NVR-settings. Go to Settings -> Storage -> Schedule -> And make sure "Intelligent" are always recording on the relevant channels. As you run an NVR (model?) I would also advice to record 24/7. In my case I record most channels on Substream 24/7...

Got my front door/delivery cam up and wondering Face vs Human detection on 5442

Consider it a toy, it's not 100%. Agree, cool when it works!

Got my front door/delivery cam up and wondering Face vs Human detection on 5442

Try IVS tripwire or intrusion and compare with and without SMD activated,IVS is pretty sensitive and rarely miss the target. When setting up IVS you can also modify target size to avoid cats to trigger - this can reduce the false alarms alot :-)

Got my front door/delivery cam up and wondering Face vs Human detection on 5442

Yes, if you have a AI-NVR or a Face Recognition camera. You can have a database of your "friends" and trigger an alarm output (that can be used as a auxiliary signal) on a positive face recognition. You can also have an action if there is a "stranger", note that a stranger is everyone that is...

Got my front door/delivery cam up and wondering Face vs Human detection on 5442

Quick feedback, I went out and tested now. Running SMD with IVS off on the 5442, went pass the camera and alarm was triggered. To find the recording/event on the 5216, go to AI, SMD - search - Voila! Human Detection only displays events from cameras running Video Metadata (as far as I have...

Got my front door/delivery cam up and wondering Face vs Human detection on 5442

Hi, I've tested this quite a bit recently. First, Face detection AND SMD doesn't work together on the 5442. You need to choose either. Like @wittaj says, FD is very easy to fool - hide your face and the camera will not trigger any alarm event. Better to go with SMD with/without IVS. I have...

    5442-ase and 5231-ze IVS rules

Hi, Easiest is to open another tab in your browser and open Live View. Enable IVS on the live view and you'll see them all. I just tested and I can see my 3 tripwires and intrusion box at the same time. When I created another rule it was on the live screen within a second. Running SmartPSS...

    NanoStation m5 config

Nano 1, 192.168.8.100 Nano 2, x.x.8.101 Camera x.x.8.110 Gateway 192.168.8.1 (router) Edit: disconnect the nano from the nvr and keep it your normal LAN! Then you can use the bridge for APs or whatever more you want.

    NanoStation m5 config

I think the IP ranges are causing the problems here, depending on the answer of 2 above. This reply is valid as long the the Nanostation is NOT connected to the POE ports of the NVR. Keep the camera and Nanostations on the same subnet as the NVR (the LAN side of it) (193.168.8.x).

    AI in 2021

Haha! I totally know the story! I've had a bunch of "human intrususions" from various evil-minded cats, chickens and horses. But, on the other side, comparing to a couple of years back. The intrusions from trees waving (with guns) and (creepy) shadows are long gone. At least we're on the right...

Cheap LPR camera with integrated software

The Dahua models, 7- and ITC-series are all in the 4-500$ range. If you find a cheaper camera that can handle it, please let me know and I'll buy it to test and compare.

Dahua IVS working great so far

Hi! I can't answer about BI so this only camera related. What you should do is to set a minimal size that IVS should react to. As the camera is not looking far away the scale of people far away is not an issue. At your location I would prefer to use Intrusion instead of Tripwire. SMD 3.0 for...

Main Stream and Sub Stream issue on IP Cameras

What NVR do you have and what bandwidth are the main streams? Could be (yes, I'm guessing) that if the NVR are very low-end the max bandwidth could be maxed out. To manually change, use the mouse connected to the nvr and hoover to the top of the camera view and a small list of options will...

    Turn off Sound on Cameras.

In the camera it's like Biggen says. In the NVR the audio setting are In the "More". Make sure Audio is disabled on both NVR and Camera - as the settings doesn't always follow from one to the other. Also make sure you switch it of for main and sub stream(s).

SMD and IVS ignoring tracked machines

I haven't tested with tracked vehicles but i have a PTZ with the Smart Plan "Video Metadata", it often put tractors in the category "Non motor Vehicle". SMD with/without IVS still recognise them as Vehicles. It all probably comes down to what the AI is "trained" to recognise. Probably not to...
