    A New Doorbell

I don't consider the DB6I Doorbell a "Security product" so being wifi-only is not a problem. I do agree that POE is preferable but not at all a deal breaker - for this product. For Security and surveillance there are definitely more suitable products. This is a Doorbell with a camera that...

    A New Doorbell

Yes, you need an account set it up but then you can access it only via the NVR if you wish, and limit it to access the internetz. When you push the button DMSS notifies you with "IPC External alarm", the notification is pushed from the NVR and not via the Cloud. But agree, I was also surprised...

Dahua PTZ Idle Motion - No OSD

Ahh, I see your problem. You are logged in to the NVR, not the camera itself. To log in to the camera, click on the blue "e", on the relevant camera (see pic below). Log in with same credentials you have on the NVR. From here the picture I posted, from the Wiki, above makes sense. A tip for...

Dahua PTZ Idle Motion - No OSD

Oops, I see I forgot to add the picture from the wiki. I do like the picture says. You should use internet Explorer (not Edge). Don't bother about OSD, you don't need to do that. Post a screenshot of your settings tab. Edit: I have an old 22404gu (model name?), can connect it and check the...

Dahua PTZ Idle Motion - No OSD

Hi, you do not need to enter the OSD-menu to set up idle motion. Have you set it up like the picture says? Instead of a pattern (mentioned on picture), choose desired preset you want to return back to. I run this on several PTZs and I do not have any problem with it. Do double check that the...

    Dahua VDP config non existent

I cannot help you about the first question but hopefully with the second one. Oldie but goldie, have you tried to log on using IE (not Edge)? In most cases IE works best with Dahua devices.

    A New Doorbell

@vidman I will test the chime myself later on as well, will probably also pick up the wireless chime too, for testing. I'll probably install the DB on on my gate 20m from the house. The 3 ways I've found (so far) to configure the DB are: DMSS, very limited options SmartPSS, still limited but...

    A New Doorbell

Just got my DB6I / DB5X. First impressions are very positive. Nice build quality! Easy to connect to directly via DMSS (P2P) (Android) and to the NVR (standard IP). As it was only a first test I powered it up via the Micro-USB port. - The settings in the DMSS app are pretty limited but...

Two POE cameras (most likely Dahua or Andy) off one ethernet cable - best method

Agree with @wittaj , I have a bunch of them myself and they wo4k great! Dahua call them PFT1300.

    Which camera?

Moi bfc, Tervetuloa Ipcamtalk! First of all, I'm a Dahua guy. I find Dahua offering best bang for the buck. Comparing what you get from Mediamarkt or other consumer electronics stores, you'll be amazed how much more you get from a Dahua camera for just a few € more. (Hikvision is a comparable...

Haha! You also need to consider the quantity / life quality factor.

2022 New Product Plan and Chinese New Year Plan

I had the SD5A425 too, sold it and bought 2x 49225XA-HNR (now I have 3). SD5A425 is still a great camera but the price/performance of 49225 is pretty much unbeatable. Being "only" a 2mp it's an impressive piece of kit.

Remote disarming the Dahua survilance system

Since NVR Fw 4.002xx the alarm-in -> Disarm has moved. See screenshot. How do you control the alarm lights? Relay out from NVR? If so, your solution can be solved by this NVR Function.

Remote disarming the Dahua survilance system

What cameras are you using? For the TioC-range it's very easy but for other cameras it can be more tricky. As you mention alarm lights i guess we're talking TioC, I.e. 3549-AS-PV.

    Raspberry PI only LPR

Hi Richard! Do you have more details to share? It would be interesting to test this out. Has it been tested/trained with other plates than from Singapore? How does your licence work, is it 50SGT annually or pay as a one off? Does this includes updates? Lots of questions but suit your self...

Looking for a 2MP (or higher) PTZ POE with good night vision

This is more than enough for your application. https://www.dahuasecurity.com/au/products/productDetail/19711 For baby camera I use a very basic fixed 2mp with 2,8mm lens. Mounted in a corner you (at least I) get a good enough overview. I activate Motion Detection to get notified about movements.

    Why winter sucks for LPR.

That's clear! For the West camera I would first try to decrease the angle - move canera closer to the road. Alternatively (second choice) to increase IR.

    Why winter sucks for LPR.

Yup, dirt and snow covered plates is a nightmare. What's your exposure settings on the LPR Cam? Short exposure / fast shutter is one of the key ingredients to LPR.

How to Setup Spotter Cams with Dahua NVR?

Yes, that is correct and the intendent function. You can set the camera to go back to a default preset after some time idle. Log on to the PTZ and set it up here.

How to Setup Spotter Cams with Dahua NVR?

Log in to the NVR using IE, click the AI menu. Parameters -> IVS and choose relevant SPOTTER cam. Choose the relevant IVS-Rule you want to use and scroll down to PTZ LINKAGE and in the box that pop up, first enable (!!) And then the channel of the PTZ and what preset you want to send it to...

    Can't find cameras

Hi, How are the cameras connected? Directly to the POE-ports of the NVR or in your LAN? I would connect one camera at the time your normal LAN and look for the IP 192.168.1.108 (Default Dahua IP), one canera at the time. Make sure you're computer is in the 192.168.1.x range (!!), you may...

I know all about that! I have 2x 49225's still in their boxes, since Black Friday, waiting to get installed but I think I'll wait for the spring to come :-)

    Greetings from Bavaria, Germany

The key difference is the sensor / cmos size. The 5442/9 had the very good 1/1,8" sensor but the IPC-Color4K-X has the new and even bigger 1/1,2" sensor. Here's the comparison. (Only used screen recorder when I played back so the picture quality is pretty low but the difference is obvious). And...

That sounds good! There are plenty of knowledge and experience around here so just shoot when you have questions! Depending on your needs and where the cameras will be mounted I can really recommend the IPC-Color4K-X. It's by far my favourite fixed camera for the moment. I made a comparison...

Connect iPhone to Windows 10 via VPN?

There are a lot of threads on here about VPN solutions so by doing s but of search you will definitely find solutions. One thing that I run myself (paralell with my L2TP) and that I experience being more easy to setup is Zerotier. I will not explain what it is as there are plenty of info on...
