IPC-T5442T-ZE IPC-T5442TM-AS IPC-T5842T-ZE SMD 3.0 Smart IR Latest New Firmware From EmpireTech

I have upgraded 5, 5442 series cameras to the new (beta) 11/5/21 firmware, and played with it the last few weeks. I am also running an older version of Blue Iris 5.4.5.3. One of the cameras was an older hardware build ~2 yr old and one was about 1 year old (12/20), the rest are newer cameras...

MY OWN NEIGHBORS throwing their empty modellos outside my house

On a positive note, you could always do what one of your neighbors did in Houston. He might have had the same problem that you do. You would have a never ending supply of material. Maybe make a few $ on the side. Modello Beer can house

    Two new Dahua Turret Installs

Thanks Looney, mounted ~6 ft off the ground for good facial rec. In addition to the camera IR light, I have an IR emitter shooting through the above window toward the gate for best results. Edit: 6' for gate, 7' for post.

    Two new Dahua Turret Installs

Nyloc Nuts, they are great. I think I have every known stainless steel fastener known to mankind. I worked for a defense contractor. There came a time in past history where China was flooding the market with cheap/subpar SS fasteners. The military came down hard on contractors and stated...

    Two new Dahua Turret Installs

Well, I am in FL, so I can understand your concern. Believe me, there is not going to be water intrusion. I use silicone calk around the camera base also. I should have elaborated, this box is also under a 1m eve. I have spent about 1/4 of my life on irrigation plumbing around the compound...

    Two new Dahua Turret Installs

I have been procrastinating adding a camera on the other side of the property and at a pinch point gate entrance. Have been looking at camera junction boxes to mount one of the cameras to the house, but none of them have a straight conduit feedthrough. They all have a 90 degree conduit exit...

    More recent IR illuminator recommendations?

I have used a variety of IR emitters and find most of them put out too much IR light and blow out the faces/details. I typically use them down range, where as much detail may not matter. I stay away from the emitters that use 20 - 150 regular LEDs. because that is obviously not what they were...

Yet more people leaving trash outside my house

Good job running those scumbags off. A word of caution, I would not stand in front of the truck when confronting them. Makes you too easy of target. Make it difficult for them and stay on rear side. Just in case. I don't think I would have the balls to do what you do, even if I was locked...

The Slow Boat From China: Scam Edition

Here is my UPS delivery person delivering my late package. I cannot wait til this Summer when it is hot and sultry, and she has her bikini outfit on. This is the facial recognition camera, among other things. Makes it worthwhile waiting on package.

    Mail theft and credit cards

Probably best to freeze your credit report from the big 3 credit reporting bureaus, yourself. I have had my credit frozen for the last 10 years. That has dramatically reduced the spam CC mailings I was receiving. A credit freeze keeps the sensitive data in your credit files from being...

IPC-T5442T-ZE IPC-T5442TM-AS IPC-T5842T-ZE SMD 3.0 Smart IR Latest New Firmware From EmpireTech

I have not seen a Mfgr date code on any Dahua cameras or through the camera GUI. Sure wish they would mark it on the cameras, since there are hardware differences on different vintages. It could be encoded in the S/N, but not easy to decipher. I have looked at s/n from 2 year old and new...

    IR light question

What also does not make sense that your Qsee cam has IR lights and w/o an IR cut filter? This is a band stop filter above 650nm, so you would not see crap in the 850nm range. That is if your camera sensor can even see in the IR band also. For normal IR capable cameras, during the daytime, the...

T-Mobile 5G Home Internet AND Blue Iris

Thanks for all the info. The cable companies have to be shaking in their boots, because soon, everyone will be migrating over to cellular internet/online streaming. My cable company keeps increasing my rate every 6 months or so, and tries to pressure me to use their cell service. Good to hear...

IP Cameras only good for after the fact? Not any more

I have been using Amazons Silk browser on firestick. I also have been buying the newer type of 4K capable firesticks, just in case I need that later on. I know @Holbs stated that he had problems with his firestick, but the 4K version has been rock solid. I was a little skeptical at first...

IP Cameras only good for after the fact? Not any more

The intruder is sitting in the State Penn for 26 months for felony burglary. We are safe, but the intruder would not have been safe if I found her that night. Things are different now, and I am even more ready. The things you learn after something happens. It is easy to become complacent...

IP Cameras only good for after the fact? Not any more

I could not agree with you more. I always have to think, "What type of people sit in a building somewhere waiting for alarms, especially this day and age?" I would think not too smart, half are probably asleep on a slow night and the other half have a drug induced high. You get what you pay...

IP Cameras only good for after the fact? Not any more

I did have all 3 firesticks running UI3 24/7 in the beginning, but noticed that my CPU usage on BI server went up a little. I run my substreams at 1024 bit rate. I used the Kodi tool to disable firestick from sleeping. Now, when I shut off TV, I first press the Home button on firestick remote...

    False alert

Well, that scared him off. I have a lot of stray cats around here every night and every once in great long while, I will get an IVS alert from them or racoon. Don't really know why algorithm thinks one time it is human and others it is not, but I can live with it.

I wanted to start a thread on what I have recently done with an IP camera setup using Blue Iris, to protect my home. I have had IP cameras around the house for the last 11 years+, and using Blue Iris for 6 years. During a recent event where an intruder was breaking into the house while I was...

New IPC-T5442T-ZE - Potential Firmware bug?

7/29 version worked for me, but I think IVS could be better. I always use the default admin account though. I could not roll back to the 7/6/21 version, because it is not posted anywhere. It just started showing up on newer cameras.

New IPC-T5442T-ZE - Potential Firmware bug?

When I received a new 5442 cam with the 7/6/21 firmware, I tried to roll back firmware to the 12/3/20 version. I ran into a problem where it would not set the time zone for the camera. It was blank. That was with the default admin account. So I loaded the 7/29/21 version. Good luck, hope a...
