older triggers not showing on timeline

My 4TB drive is holding about 18 days of data using 5 cams recording 24/7. I can go back and review all of these days easily but on the timeline my triggered events only show up on the last 7 days and can see no reason they don't show for all 18 days. I did a database rebuild just in case, but...

    Cooler thief hit neighbors house

It was a cheaper one - maybe $50 - $100 at most - neighbor wasn't concerned with the price, just the fact someone had the nerve to do it. I did scan the footage and he drove past there 2 times earlier and none in the previous days. A good citizen here informed me that the plate comes back to a...

they knew it was of little value before they ever showed up. With this much evidence though, I only hope that they pay him a visit and maybe bring the guys cooler back. He needs to be taught a lesson though.

    Cooler thief hit neighbors house

I've been tinkering with LPR stuff but temporarily using an Amcrest IP2M-853EW PTZ to see if I could get it to swing fast enough to snag a plate. The cams on the side of the house have zones set and then tell the PTZ to swing and zoom in - it has been working near perfectly during the day but I...

Lost PTZ controls with Firmware upgrade - SOLVED

I've not had that problem and am no expert but it sure sounds like your POE port is not providing the full power needed by this unit. My POE switch only has 1 port that provides up to 60 watts if needed and the rest are divided up all below 30 watts. Be sure to double check those switch specs if...

    US Elections (& Politics) :)

well, I've talked my way out of a few situations before also but if they ask you something like that - "do you know why I stopped you or the question posed above" You turn it into a question of your own. "Why did you stop me?" or "What is the speed limit on this road?" You could proceed with...

    US Elections (& Politics) :)

The key is PREVENTION. Everyone should be taught in Drivers Ed. that you do not need to argue with the police - you argue in court. You have a 5th amendment right to NOT talk to the police at all times. There is a nice little video you can find if you google "I don't answer questions" THAT is...

I have to wonder how many people actually have the answer and once they see an attitude - they just sit back and say - "yeah, I think I'll pass"

    BI & Plate Recognizer

Hey, I'm a big excel guy but databases have their use also - usually nothing I can't do in excel though. Not sure what version of Excel you are using but the 2013 version have 1,048,576 rows so even at 18,000 plates per month that is just under 5 years of logging. You could then either start a...

    BI & Plate Recognizer

the quick math does come to 80 plates or images per day in a 31 day month to stay under 2500 but then if you live in a state not requiring a front plate you need 2 cameras so cut that down to 40 plates/images per day that it will send - that's not much. I have a cheap cam on each side of my...

New here hoping for a little help

Not sure about anyone else, but I read somewhere that it is best to not use the overlays in BI if you want to conserve CPU power, so I just use the one built into the camera instead. Otherwise it is still just a drag and drop thing in BI too. Was just tinkering with mine and noticed that I had...

Too old for Facebook. Too young for Life Alert.

Then I bet you've heard of Gabby Franco. She and I were on a USPSA team together back in 2018 shooting the "Cowtown Classic". She's a blast. Shot a lot of IDPA myself and an SO too. Found the SO duties to be very distracting though if you are really trying to advance. Our group was shooting...

it took way less than that to give Al Frankin the win years back. This was a huge case of voter fraud - he won by 218 votes. You can still google this one.

    Pandemic threat? Anyone else concerned?

You are being intentionally obtuse and feigning ignorance of absentee ballot procedure. Anyone that expresses a need to vote by mail is allowed to do so by asking for their ballot to be mailed to them. Just being over 65 is a qualifier. Not to mention that the election is still over 5 months...

After V5 upgrade, no more full hour clips

You are either not actually recording continuous or you are using different folders than you think. Ctrl-S (blue iris settings) > Clips and Archiving tab > recheck all of your storage folder locations If you are actually recording continuous you will also have a clip icon on the bottom right of...

Look in your storage area and see if all of the files there are really under 10 MB as shown. These are obviously just alerts even though your setting seems right.

    What does it mean?

Seems I misunderstood or just took too literally the BI manual as to be how it should be done instead of what is the best way to do it. The manual says to keep the database and NEW folder on your fastest drive, so I made sure to get an SSD for those two folders. So, I will modify and keep just...

Recordings only last about 5 Hours (SOLVED)

you need to go to your Blue Iris Settings under the "clips and archiving" tab and set the size of your Stored folder. I have a 4TB drive and have allocated 3700GB to my Stored folder. It's just about the perfect size to fill the drive other than a few other minor items I keep over there.

    What does it mean?

@SouthernYankee thanks for posting that - I had not seen a compilation for storage yet. Two questions please. 1 - On the size being set to 3GB - is there any other reason for this other than transfer difficulty? 2 - When determining the total size of the New folder on the SSD, since my file...

The numbers are fake and we all know it. If you talk to the right people the truth comes out. Only 6 of the 194 reported cases in San Diego are pure C-19 deaths. https://disrn.com/news/county-supervisor-says-san-diego-has-only-had-6-pure-solely-coronavirus-deaths-out-of-194-listed-as-such

    New to LPR

what is interesting is that I also have an Amcrest IP2M-853 which is 2mp and the 12x zoom on that thing I can easily read plates at 300 feet in the day and almost at night using the same day settings (it's starlight). This is why I was expecting more from the 3241 - which is $130 from Andy but...

    New to LPR

Okay, I have placed a IPC-T3241T-ZAS at 17 ft back from the curb and so far almost all moving targets are at 80 feet and this gives an angle of about 28 degrees (using google maps for measurements) the 3241 cam has a 13.5 mm varifocal so it is a solid 4x zoom and you are right, I am disappointed...

    New to LPR

Okay, I've got a 3241 loose enough that that I can tinker with it, I'll go set it at the tree and check the zoom and just start testing it that way. For cams that don't do anything else but LPR, well, I'm just looking for whatever I can get away with at the best price. Thanks

    New to LPR

What if you leave your cams on the night settings during the day - do they still capture okay? Or, is it necessary to use both day and night modes? Still shopping for LPR cams for best bang for the buck - as I can mount them in a solid tree and won't need to shoot more than 80 ft. So I am...
