    Infrared and full color cameras

Why keep in a box lol? The idea sounded good but I guess the implementation is crap. Side ranger: Personally I always had hikvision but I’ve read so many cctv companies that have been hik guys switching over to dahua because of This ir/led features. I guess it’s just all hype. Maybe I should...

which 4mp model has both IR for super low light conditions and all full color at night/led?

    Infrared and full color cameras

What are the latest turret hikvision and dahua cameras that feature both infrared and full color night vision/led? I want to narrow it down to 4mp ( 1/1.8 sensor) or 8mp (1/1.2 sensor) but I am having trouble finding these specs as it’s hard to know which has both IR and full color night vision...

    Mount camera to vinyl soffit

How do you access the fascia board nails for the soffit that the aluminum flashing covers? I feel like bending that straight will never let it look like it did originally.

    Mount camera to vinyl soffit

Hey how’s this approach working out? I too have vinyl soffit and was thinking of using these anchors. I was going to mount closer to the side as you have done and not in the middle to keep it from flexing in the center.

Review- IPC-WL46A 4MP 2.8mm Floodlight Wifi Network Camera

I didn’t think this one had a LAN port unless I’m mistaken. I’m probably going risk it and do the wifi. It’s better than my current situation which is just a flood light. I wonder if anyone uses the full color cam led lights as floodlights above a garage. Might not be bright enough but the 180...

Review- IPC-WL46A 4MP 2.8mm Floodlight Wifi Network Camera

All Good points. I would find interfering wifi between the camera and the access point by an intruder unlikely and complex for a residential break in however regarding other devices on the same frequency in the house might likely cause issues. Regarding power line adapters (I assume that’s what...

2CD2387G2-LSU/LU Tear down and refocus (with pictures)

yea my old dome cameras never had an issue but they probably had better aerodynamics then a turret. If I have any sag in my soffit maybe il suck it up and dirty myself in attic insulation to try and add some bracing. Il report back on how well the vinyl soffit holds.

Review- IPC-WL46A 4MP 2.8mm Floodlight Wifi Network Camera

I am still a bit confused with your concern, could you elaborate on the issue and can it be addressed with more performant router?

2CD2387G2-LSU/LU Tear down and refocus (with pictures)

The wire is a great idea and I will probably do just that. I am in Maryland so we don’t get to many hurricanes but it is better than relying on the rj45 connection lol.

Review- IPC-WL46A 4MP 2.8mm Floodlight Wifi Network Camera

Thanks for the feedback. I think the dahua may be the safer choice as their brand seems more pro oriented. Wifi may not be an issue with some access points like noted above. Probably would be a good idea anyway to add network extenders to a house to boost the best signal possible for cameras and...

2CD2387G2-LSU/LU Tear down and refocus (with pictures)

i actually already bought the hikvision but I’m tempted to buy one of the dahua as well to try out the 4kt. Any harm in mixing brands between hikvision and dahua? Does hik connect play well with dahua cams and dahua software with hikvision? Ultimately planning on a better solution such as a NAS...

2CD2387G2-LSU/LU Tear down and refocus (with pictures)

My roof pitch is too low so trying to go from attic to add a board would result in my head probably hitting a roofing nail and I don’t want to bend il my angled aluminum on the fascia board. I was thinking the vinyl soffit is pretty thick these days and the f channel is unbreakable by hand also...

2CD2387G2-LSU/LU Tear down and refocus (with pictures)

I was interested in the 4K-T. I am not a fan of the image distortion on the screens for the 180 otherwise I may have gone that route.

2CD2387G2-LSU/LU Tear down and refocus (with pictures)

I’m not too worried about size but more so weight as I plan to hang under vinyl soffit (certainteed) and not directly screwed to wood supports but rely on the f channel support/ j channel and nails holding that up. Seems the hikvision is at 2lbs but dahua lists two weights net and gross but it’s...

Review- IPC-WL46A 4MP 2.8mm Floodlight Wifi Network Camera

There are 2 sensors so technically it’s 4mp per 1/2.8” sensor so which isnt horrible compared to the dahua. Unless I am misreading something.

Review- IPC-WL46A 4MP 2.8mm Floodlight Wifi Network Camera

So I’m curious what people’s thoughts are for this vs the reolink floodlight which runs on poe Ethernet and supports onvif ( Amazon link). Seems some people don’t like the wifi and seem a little iffy on 120v circuits since their use to Poe only. From the pics I’ve seen the reolink lights are...

    For Sale IPC-B5442E-Z4E from Andy

Yea I went ahead and bought them also but the lsu version for two way audio and strobe alarm if I ever want that feature. 200 bucks a camera for the hikvision version so I’m happy with it. Any tweaks to settings you can recommend ahead of time? Ps I hate the idea of mixing brands also but I’m...

How come you want to sell the hikvision as despite how new they are? Considering getting the same camera or the dahua color4k-t but having trouble deciding.

Dahua IPC-Color4K-T Vs Hikvision ColorVu DS-2CD2387G2-LU

I’m sure this probably a whole thread on its own but if you use a vpn then hik connect will never send to their p2p servers based on some setting you put in hik connect? Or do you just set it up as local up addresses and not use their QR code system for finding the cameras when setting it up? I...

Dahua IPC-Color4K-T Vs Hikvision ColorVu DS-2CD2387G2-LU

Not sure of how hik connect works and but I assume the remote viewing is encrypted via ssl or something and I don’t believe ports are open. Why would the vpn be needed? Does the data go from the camera to some hikvision servers first then to the mobile app to get around not needing the ports...

Dahua IPC-Color4K-T Vs Hikvision ColorVu DS-2CD2387G2-LU

The last paragraph is definitely a possibility haha. Spec wise is there anything between the two that on paper one one should exceed the other in some aspect of performance?

Dahua IPC-Color4K-T Vs Hikvision ColorVu DS-2CD2387G2-LU

I am hoping this does not get torn apart by different fanboys of each brand but from a non bias opinion how do these two compare for picture quality, features, night time video, etc. Also curious about ease of setup between these two in regards to networking and remote video. I have primarily...

    DS-2CD2387G2P-LSU/SL Panoramic 4k

So you have both of these models? My house is a perfect rectangle so I could do the 2387g2 on the corner soffet and get a decentl angle/coverage with 4mm or get this panoramic and put in the center of the soffit and take advantage of the 180 degrees. I’m torn and it’s a trade off but really I...

    DS-2CD2387G2P-LSU/SL Panoramic 4k

Yea I’m aware of that. Overall though they are two of the top contenders from hikvision for this 8mp market (spliced sensors or not) in this 200-300 price bracket. I just figured these two would be what most users are deciding between if going for hikvision. Atleast I’m on the fence between...
