    I cannot remember where I got these cams from exactly, 1 came from ebay with me been told not to update. The 2nd one came from a similar source, probably Ali, so I presumed that was the same. However, I noticed the WR in the serial number. Is this a dead cert that I can update it one version...

    iVMS-4200 very random live view.

    I thought I'd have a play with this as I've seen it mentioned a few times on here. However, it seems not to like me. As you can see I have added all my cams (bar the Longse) but only 4 show. And the view is just random. I'm using Win 10 on a mac book if that makes any odds.

    Great review, and I understand the spider problem with the bullets. My 2032 is the same. I won't buy any more for that reason and much prefer the turrets. I spray mine with 'spider gone'. Seems to last a month although they claim much longer. Are they a vast improvement over the 4MP cams?

    Thanks Alastair, I'll have a look. I do like the new UI of my latest cam. Will the firmware update that too? I only access via my NAS and VPN so I presume I dont have to worry about updates due to security vulnerabilities? Sorry for the thread hijack... I blocked my old Foscam from internet...

    Hi, I have 2 'basic' questions. 1. If I reduce the stream resolution does this reduce the recorded image or just the stream that I'm looking at via DS cam from the Live View tab? 2. From the drop down menu in Live View, is it best to select from camera of from Surveillance station?

    Plastic lens cleaner

    Meguiars PlastiX is the only thing I can think of. Use it with a micro fibre, but it takes time. Its not a wipe on/off affair.

    You will have to open the relevant ports in your router to allow remote access. If you have a dynamic IP adreess you will have to use a DDNS. OR Your router may have a VPN server you could use. Let the fun begin!
