    Hikvision emails increasing size

I have the same on my Android Phone, my desktop is individual mails. If you delete the mail and a new one comes in it reopens it. You have to delete the mail, then empty the BIN. The new mail will be a new conversation.

Hikvision NVR series question for RAID?

Hi, I don't think you can get the NVRs to use RAID with multiple disks.. I'm not 100% sure how it uses the two disks, but I think it just writes to one and then the other. If you need the recordings to be saved off to another location, I assume to minimise the risk of disk/nvr failure...

what is going on with BI and my firewall log? why all this connections?

You should probably stop forwarding anything to the BI server and test to see if all this stops. If it doesn't then you have something else opening up the ports. Do you have UPnP enabled on the Router, it could be that BI is using that to open ports?

    Harddrive storage in NVR

The only real world difference is the additional recording capabilities.. Maybe if you had 16 cams all writing 10Mbps streams it might help, but I doubt it. Not sure how an average NVR use two drives, whether they just use the storage as one blob or some sort or interleaving to write to each...

I'm not familiar with OpenVPN on the Asus, but on my Synology NAS my OpenVPN has the following option. 'Allow clients to access servers LAN' Do you have that option and how is it set?

Blue Iris Shows Connection to Server in Vietnam?

That's why I was asking if it was outgoing or incoming connections and if they were successful, I wasn't clear from the initial post. I guess we have the answer now and it's not good.

Blue Iris Shows Connection to Server in Vietnam?

As I don't know BI I might be talking poo poo, but is this a connection from or to the IP address in Ho Chi Minh City? Also is it successful?

HikVision NVR Email alerts don't contain images

Hi, Your FW version should be fine with GMail for the Images. I can't remember what/if anything was done to resolve my issue outside of a FW upgrade. If you have another provider to test with, just to prove there isn't anything wrong then it might be a good test. Paul

Whats the consensus with embedded systems with surveillance software like Synology or Qnap?

From what I have read the Synology software is pretty good, buuuut get's expensive after the first two (free) licences. I went with an NVR as it just works in my home environment, but others champion the BI route as it's a lot more open in what it can do. Different horse for different courses...

    Tinycam and Laview (hikvision) NVR

Can you not add it as a generic cam using the rtsp stream? You should be able to use the following RSTP link for your streams. Try in VLC first to ensure that they work. rtsp://user:pass@192.168.2.30:8554/PSIA/streaming/channels/101 Hope that helps.

HikVision NVR Email alerts don't contain images

I had this issue for about a week and then the images started to come through.. Sometimes I would just get an image holder in my email where the pictures should be. This was with sending through GMail too, but I cannot remember if I changed anything or it just started working. What is the...

Need help understanding IP setup on DS-7616NI-I2/16P

Can you see the cameras on the local network using SADP? A link to the tool can be found here. The cameras should connect through your LAN to the LAN port on your NVR, unless the camera is directly connected, you shouldn't have a cable in the POE port for the camera.

    HV 2332 3MP vs 2352 5MP Comparison

I would have said the Saturday Night shot was quite a bit better then the Sunday one, but a static image is not the best test. Get out there and walk around, see how each of them deals with movement. Paul

    Firmware Updating Hikvision DS-7616NI-E2

Although via the app should work, have you tried this via the Web GUI on the NVR itself?

What's your exposure time for the camera? I've set mine to 1/50, I think) and seem to get a decent moving night image. Have a look at this thread.

Urgent advice needed - installed tomorrow

I think the second two would benefit from corridor mode, deffo the last one. You need to try to get rid of the wall in the right of the picture in the last one. Monitoring the wall is pointless. [emoji3]. The Midway one I thought was going to have a view out from the house, you're not having...

Best Remote Viewing Setup for Hikvision?

Although this method is easier, it is much less secure. The CCTV hardware, for all vendors, have had backdoors discovered. Use a VPN and only forward the Internet traffic to the VPN service. Take a look here on doing this: VPN Primer for Noobs

My first installation, need some guidance and advise

Have a look IPVM's Camera Calculator to be able to play around with the location and views of the different cameras. What is useful is that you can set the FoV for a camera and get a decent idea on what the camera will see. I would say that if the white car is in the camera's view and that...

Urgent advice needed - installed tomorrow

The only real way to determine if these locations are correct is to temporary mount the cameras there. I see two possible issues. The camera on the left of the door looks to be pointing directly above the wall and plants, this could cause IR flare. The camera on the right of the door points...

    Problem port forwarding HikVision NVR

It takes me about 20 seconds to start the VPN up and then check the cameras, so it's not the end of the world. If you want to get fancy, use Tasker (On Android anyway) to auto connect to your VPN when you leave the comfort of your home network. Unless you have a low monthly allowance on your...

Depends, if you can take the cable directly through the eaves, you can mount the camera flat against them. But you'll need to check that the eaves are strong enough with or without the mount. Sent from my ONEPLUS A3003 using Tapatalk
