    this is a used foscam, about 2 years old, never had issue with it but it was only 6 meter distance that time. The climate where i live is dry and sunny all year round, so the weather should not impact it. But lets see, hope you are wrong :)

    well said mate. I also have NVR, top spec 4K ones, these can cope with the FullHD cams, but with zoneminden linux way, you must have a pretty good metal under the hood, supermicro motherboard with 16GB RAM, etc

    thanks a lot, funny thing is, I also have a Ubiquiti Nano M2 and also a tracer MPPT charge controller. I will use a 80watt mono panel, not decided on the PTZ yet. Dahua seems to be the King of PTZs, but never owned one, so I will think about it.

    ahh, OK, many thanks. On mikrotik forum they wrote last weeks some ppl observer huge number of attacks from NVRs. So, i even suspect the Mikrotik was a point of entry. But i dont have any logs.

    it is not reachable via IP anymore, even if i can VPN into the network. I can not restart as I am far away but hopefully it will fix it. The NVR is behind a Mikrotik router no portforward used. Anyhow I can reach the cameras, "only" the NVR went silent. Heck knows what happened but strange...

    I lost my connection to my Hikvision NVR since last weekend, exactly when the DDoS attack happened against DynDNS. Chinese camera vendors already admit their cams , NVRs were used for the attack.
