New Home build - Camera locations & models feedback

When your garage doors are closed, you'll have a blind zone in front of the doors that cam3 won't see. I'd maybe put another cam where LPR cam5 is, pointed back towards the doors and cam3

    Review-Dahua IPC-HDW2231RP-ZS Starlight Camera-Varifocal

Set the i-frame interval to the same as FPS. With the latest firmware, if the i-frame interval is set to the default (2x the FPS), the main stream goes blank for me. It appears fine in Blue Iris.

    Dahua 4MP Starlight Lineup

Also on these new cams, notice that they don't list the min lux separately for color (IR off) and B&W (IR on) like they do for the older cams. Eg IPC-HDW2231R-ZS 0.006Lux/F1.4( Color,1/3s,30IRE) 0.05Lux/F1.4( Color,1/30s,30IRE) 0Lux/F1.4(IR on)...

    Intel Driver Availability

Lots of people have recently set up new computers with 8th gen Intel processors without the issues you are seeing. You shouldn't be running BI on a laptop. That processor is fairly slow, and likely equivalent to an older generation i5, which is insufficient for your 540MP/s

Help me spend some money specing out a 48 camera Blue Iris server and storage

The case is only 3.5" high. That cooler is 159mm (6.25") high just itself, and then it has to sit up on the motherboard and CPU. I'm using the stock cooler that came with my i5-6600 CPU. You'll need a normal cooler that has the fan blowing upwards, like the Noctua NH-L9i or Noctua NH-L9x65. I...

The large blue square in your picture is the 67% reset. If motion exceeds that many pixels, it won't trigger. eg a large fast moving...
