    Hikvision Camera Settings

I asked a similar question a bit ago. I've searched high and low and I don't think anyone has done a help blog or video on the subject matter. I struggle with these settings also.

Bricked my DS-2CD2032-I from China, need 5.2.5 firmware? Someone please help.

The problem is you came here wanting to place the blame (after you discovered you pretty much created a paper weight), (via flawed intellectual and argumentative attempts to justify it I might add) on the manufacture for your own informed actions. That, is an emotion response of someone who is...

Bricked my DS-2CD2032-I from China, need 5.2.5 firmware? Someone please help.

Yep I can't help it if people can't fight the urge to upgrade their CAM. I will say this... most of them are not crying a river like you are. They understood the risks (those who bothered to do the research), and they took the chance. You did the same and now wanna cry about it. I say "Man Up"...

Bricked my DS-2CD2032-I from China, need 5.2.5 firmware? Someone please help.

We will have to disagree then. I understand you are upset about creating an expensive paperweight, BUT If people (You), after their (your) reserch, know that it is a VERY risky proposition to upgrade their CAM's, and STILL do so, have NO ONE to complain to IMHO. You can blame others...

Maybe your research was done elsewhere, I don't know. I do know this forum is filled with similar stories of people in the same exact plight you find your self in. Seems like every couple of hours these threads are updated with the success and failure of those trapped in firmware hell.

Blue Iris or PSS with Hikvision

Depends.. What are your needs? 1) Do you have a fairly strong dedicated computer? 2) Do you need to use the camera's motion detection system? BI has a ton of features with great support, and in my opionion is well worth the money and time investment as long as you have the right computer...

VIDEO EXAMPLE - What setting causes triggers to STOP?

Glad to hear your Son is OK. I would de-select Object Detect/Reject. For me, most of the time it just causes problems. I think I would also increase the object sizing (more sensitive.)

    4.0.2 - March 12, 2015

I saw the same thing. In my case i delete all the videos and ran ckdisk on the drive, which had a bunch of file system errors. I have not looked this morning to see if the problem persists. I do think it may have been part of my high CPU usage problem I was having.

CPU nearly doubled after update to BI 4.0.2.1 x64

For me it's definitely BI, I don't remembering making any changes but will need to look around. I do love the new pause method Ken implemented. It really allows me to automate BI with Vera better. //This pauses the OFL camera for 30 seconds...

    Intermittant 'No Signal'

Computer Resources? I noticed this exact behavior when I was pushing the limits of my first dual-core ATOM test. Once I backed the camera's way back the problem went away.

    Lets see your recommendations

You could always setup a separate network for the camera's. That's what I've done, and I have not noticed ANY issues on my Gigbit backbone... That's with 5 cameras recording to the BI machine which is apart of the camera network (100Mbit).

    Dahua IPC-HFW2300R-Z Low Bitrate

It's strange that the other 4 camera's seem to function just fine on VBR. This one, even if moving cars and people are present it never moves past that ~1029 area on VBR.

    Dahua IPC-HFW2300R-Z Low Bitrate

Thanks guys. No matter what I did, when this camera is on VBR it will not move past ~1029. So I set it to CBR (4096) per instructions here and now it's hitting that rate.

It's the camera, in the first pic, in the first post look in the upper left corner. BI is matching what the IP camera's interface is displaying (for the most part). Its hard to tell. What do you think? It's apears a bit more blurry, but I've look at these CAMS so long, It hard for me to tell...
