    Hello all from old guy

What a bunch of young snots. I received my first electronics training in 1956 at the Naval Training Center on Treasure Island. Vacuum Tubes only. While I was at Treasure Island, RCA released the first transistor that was available to the public/hobbyists. It was available for 99 cents...

Is there a Blue Iris equivalent for Linux?

Do I feel like and idiot. After all the help and suggestions given to me by several generous forum members, I found out why I couldn't boot into the BIOS. It was because I had an HDMI and a VGA monitor both hooked up at the same time. The BIOS goes to the HDMI monitor first, which I wasn't...

Is there a Blue Iris equivalent for Linux?

Well, it looks like you guys aren't going to let me give up on my old G2. You've given me too many additional possibilities. I'm leaving town in about an hour, so I'll get back to the forum in about three days. Thanks everybody. DesertRat

Is there a Blue Iris equivalent for Linux?

Just to close this out: I never was able to boot into the HP EliteDesk 800 G2 SFF's BIOS, so I tried it on my BI machine which is a G1 TWR. No problem. Accessed the BIOS on the first try. So I admit defeat on the G2. I give up. I want to thank everyone for their responses. This is the best...

Is there a Blue Iris equivalent for Linux?

SpacemanSpiff: Your comment rang a bell in my 83 year old brain. I'm using a wireless keyboard and mouse. I wonder if that causes a problem. I'm off to beg, borrow or steal a USB keyboard and mouse. Later. DesertRat

Is there a Blue Iris equivalent for Linux?

Thank you all for the responses. I have previously tried all the above suggestions multiple times, except for jsdoc's suggestion about the password jumpers. His suggestion pertained to the mini, mine is the SFF. I'll have to open up mine and see if it has that jumper. But it doesn't ask for a...

Is there a Blue Iris equivalent for Linux?

This is off topic, but I thought someone in this thread might have an answer for me. My daily driver is an HP EliteDesk 800 G2 SFF, and I am trying to try out Linux Mint from a USB stick. But I can't figure out how to get access to the BIOS to change the boot sequence. I've tried to get in...

    US Elections (& Politics) :)

WOW! I listened to the entire three hours of the AZ election audit report. 10s of thousands of fraudulent votes. Deleted files. Internet access. the whole ball of wax. They even have the names of people that did some file deleting. Now it's up to our AG. Fingers crossed. DesertRat.

    Weed Eater and Zip Tie's....

I've mowed, trimmed and blowed for the last 50 years in the 115 degree Arizona desert. (I'm 83 now). I've used every piece of equipment imaginable. Last summer I found the perfect, remotely controlled via cell phone, solution. Push a couple buttons and it's all done. The only problem is I had...

    US Elections (& Politics) :)

MLB banned the guy that displayed the "TRUMP WON" banner. Here's an idea. On every 20 dollar bill that comes through your hands, write "TRUMP WON" on it. Are the p*ssys going to cancel/burn the 20s that they come in contact with? What a dilemma. Pass it on, or burn it. It'll drive them nuts...

I don't get it!!!! $29.95; $39.95; $49.95; $59.95; Blue Iris is such a screaming deal, why are people quibbling over $10 or $20? I drink more beer than that every month. DesertRat

The Slow Boat From China: Scam Edition

Another USPS story: I ordered 1 RJ45 Jack from an e-bay seller in Florida. It was the only place I could find a RED jack. I received the USPS tracking number and started tracking the package.
