    Unbranded IP cameras, help please

there shouldnt be any difference between viewing in IE and blueiris (via rtsp). make sure your using direct to disk recording and not re-encoding in blueiris. this will also help your resource issue.

check your windows power profiles, put it on max performance and see if still you have an issue. (or put your min process state to 100% on your current profile)

    Unbranded IP cameras, help please

mine work with blueiris, there are a pile of no name cameras runing the same firmware. you could do something with ffmpeg to script grabbing jpegs from the rstp stream as well (if you can't get the camera to do it, or it doesnt have a jpg grab url). these no name cameras are a bit quirky...

    Unbranded IP cameras, help please

whats your microserver running as an OS? might make sense to have the server do the pulling rather than have the camera push to an ftp. you can try this as a manual: http://www.tatsch-it.de/wp-content/uploads/2014/11/General_IPC_MANUAL_EN_R3.pdf

    can this handle 64 cameras?

weird, i have a 4770k, but it only shows usage on 4, not all 8.

    can this handle 64 cameras?

BI doesn't seem to be able to take advantage of HT, at least on my system. Maybe because my cpu usage is low to begin with.

    Old PC setup vs NVR?

For sure it would be, but you loose flexibility. Read here for more debate: http://www.ipcamtalk.com/showthread.php/3379-Computer-versus-NVR Why not get a NVR with PoE already in it? If you go that route it's less devices, psu, and cables. not sure if you can get them with that many ports...

    Old PC setup vs NVR?

I did something similar for my parents, but I bought a new computer for them. Only running an i3-4160 with 12mp (4 x 3mp hikvisions) of cameras and direct to disk on blueiris and the processor sits at roughly 30%. the 4160 outperforms your 760 by roughly 25%, as such, allowing for some...

moving clip storage to second partition, and DB?

bvr, i didn't know you could use d2d on the other formats, never tried as i want to be able to playback while they are still recording. probably limited to h.264 if your doing mp4 with d2d?

moving clip storage to second partition, and DB?

    1) correct, most cameras allow an overlay of some sort though 2) depends on the format, bvr will let you view while its still recording, the other options will not 3) works with anything ive done, including h.264, mjpg, and jpeg 4) correct I would, but in my case i don't get any value in...

moving clip storage to second partition, and DB?

i have have my os (include the BI program) on an ssd and have BI set to do all its recording to a WD Red 4tb hard drive, it works well. Could always put another hard drive in an external case and connect with an external sata connector as your motherboard likely still has another sata...

moving clip storage to second partition, and DB?

1)probably not noticable, but your seek times might be a bit higher 2)move c:\blueiris and all its subdireictories including the database, if you ever restored your image you want your databse to match your clips/storage. you can just delete it and rebuild it if you get in a jam, but you loose...

Opinions of the best value wide-angle non-ptz indoor cams for Blue Iris?

fenderman makes a good reccomendation, an alternative would be the hik 2135 dome, which will take a 2.8mm lens as well. although small, its not terribly discrete if thats what your looking for. dahua has equivalents to both the hik models, but i'm partial to the hiks.

Alerts to Google Drive in format other than BVR?

Yes, thats what i use to post jpegs to a folder. You are correct in that you cant do video but if your using bvr for the recording and looking for something non proprietary to send to onedrive or google drive, it works. also easier on the data usage than video.

Alerts to Google Drive in format other than BVR?

the default for blueiris is c:\BlueIris to store all its data files. the 'clips and archiving' tab under settings will give you what your set up for.

Alerts to Google Drive in format other than BVR?

see attachment for my settings. i give each camera differnt folders, when you get alot of file in each folder, windows doesn't seem to like it. it was stubling when i was up around 8000 per dir even though the teoretical max is much higher. i also run this script every night with task manager...
