Thanks - your right. The flat is only 32 AWG vs the 23 AWG on the spool. Nice catch.

Love the IPC-HDW5231R-Z - now what?

Thanks for the feedback everyone. I will probably pick up two more IPC-HDW5231R-Z and two IPC-HDW4231EM-AS with 2.6mm lenses for sides of the house if Andy has them. Then the IPC-HFW5231E-Z12 and a chinese camera to test. I have two side BI questions. Do I need to adjust camera resolutions to...

Love the IPC-HDW5231R-Z - now what?

So I am not sure what move to make next after purchasing the IPC-HDW5231R-Z from @EMPIRETECANDY . Quick question, on the AliExpress description for this camera, it doesn't actually say "Starlight" anywhere, so is this a Starlight camera? Love the camera, just not the price. I need about six...

Which of these two NETGEAR switches? Or switch recommendations?

That is a nice find but the NETGEAR switches are either managed or "smart" switches. I think the BV-Tech is un-managed. For non-PoE, I think most people are just using this at the beginning of the cable, near the switch: Amazon.com: TP-Link Gigabit Ethernet PoE Injector Adapter - 802.3af...

Which of these two NETGEAR switches? Or switch recommendations?

Connecting IP cams to switch to PC - Can I do this?

Thanks - Do I need an unmanged or managed port. And will 10/100Mbps be enough for 8 x 1080p cameras? Since I am not using a router on my camera network, do I just set the IP addresses manually using my router and connect to them via the switch. Since I can't configure IP addresses on the switch.

Connecting IP cams to switch to PC - Can I do this?

So I want to get my IP cameras off my wireless network. My motherboard has two LAN connections. Can I connect a switch to one of the LAN ports with IP cameras? Then I can use Blue Iris to control those cameras and use the other port for internet so I can see remotely?
