I was worried about my system too but after experimenting with two of the new cameras, the impact was minor to unnoticeable. Also do not need VP lenses if you know what lens you need, cheaper too. -

How are you getting plates with these cameras? I have two I was going to put as a LPR going each way but they don't zoom enough. I have them on a mailbox too... I just send the camera a command every 15 minutes to refocus... -

Is the 5231 still TopDog?
I tested with the IR off on both models and the 5442 blew the 5231 away. I've been trying to figure out which setting I changed because I don't think it should be like that. -

The 5231 has a 1/2.8" sensor while the 5442 has 1/1.8" No one really commented on the increase in clarity going from 1080p to 1520p on the 4MP or whatever. Definitely noticeable. -

I do notice with the 2.8mm lens you can see more than the 5231 zoomed out. Edit: I think I just found out that more MPs does not get a wider viewing angle, correct? Should BI identifying my cameras correctly?
I left it and it wouldn't allow me to zoom in and out. I manually changed it to Dahua and Main Stream RTSP and it allowed me to zoom. Do I need to manually set all of my cameras? Why wouldn't BI recognize the camera as a motorized lens with zooming capabilities. -
