Thanks for that. What's the procedure for reverting to a previous version of the firmware on the DB1C?

    Review: EZVIZ DB1C

I'm also keen to hear whether the DB1C update improves or breaks anything. I'm reluctant to upgrade in case it breaks anything (particularly the RTSP stream, which I use with Blue Iris).

New RCA HSDB2A 3MP Doorbell IP Camera

I have a DB1C, and have been prompted to install a firmware update. I'm in the UK. I'm reluctant to upgrade in case it breaks anything (particularly the RTSP stream, which I use with Blue Iris). Has anyone upgraded the DB1C and can provide any feedback on whether it (a) offers any improvements...

    Review: EZVIZ DB1C

Yes I've got the DB1C working with the wireless chime, Home Assistant and Blue Iris. But I actually use a BI URL to access the camera in Home Assistant (I can't remember whether I tried using the Ezviz integration to get the camera stream), so my HA config for the camera looks like this...

Problems with Blurams Smart Video Doorbell

I ended up ditching mine and replacing it with an EzViz DB1C, which works well (and also offers a permanent RTSP stream, so it can also be used as a security camera). I've come across others (in other forums) who have had the same experience. I think the Blurams Doorbell was basically a waste of...

    Review: EZVIZ DB1C

Looks like it was a problem with one of the discs from my mesh network. I power cycled the disc nearest to the DB1C and the video stream is now back online. I guess it was connecting to one of the other discs and not getting enough signal strength for a video stream.

Hmm...that would be tricky as the transformer and doorbell are on opposite sides of a wall :0(

I checked it with Blue Iris, and just also tried with VLC. No stream from either, or from the Ezviz app.

No - it says "The camera is offline"

    Review: EZVIZ DB1C

Hmmm....my DB1C has been running fine for the last week, but the camera stream has just dropped offline. I can still ping it, but there's no RTSP stream and the Ezviz app says that it's offline. A power cycle of the transformer didn't help. The blue LED around the doorbell is still lit, and the...

Many thanks for the info. I just followed that link, and registered with that website, but there seems to be no way of buying from that site. There's a "£Login" button where the price looks like it should be, but when I click it I just get taken to my account details. I've tried Googling this...

    Review: EZVIZ DB1C

The saga continues....the new power supply from CPC Farnell (pic below) does not power up the DB1C. The doorbell is completely dead when I connect it up. Are there any UK-based DB1C owners here who can recommend a power supply that they have tried and tested with the DB1C and a mechanical chime?

    Review: EZVIZ DB1C

Yes - very odd indeed. So the replacement transformer from CPC Farnell arrived yesterday - and it tested fine on the multimeter. So it seems it really was a coincidence that I was sent two dud transformers, of different models, from different suppliers, in the same week. :0(

    Review: EZVIZ DB1C

So I tried attaching a Zigbee door/window sensor both above and below the central section, but couldn't get it to trigger :0( Also just had a 2nd 24VAC transformer delivered and it, too is dead (I get a zero AC voltage readout on my multimeter). I can't believe I've been sent two dud...

You can also find the Verification Code in the app - if you go to Settings..About...Device QR code... then tap the eyelash icon next to the asterisks to view it

    Review: EZVIZ DB1C

Thanks. Yes I'll do a straight swap - 24VAC for the existing 8VAC transformer. Then add the DB1C's power kit across the (T) & (1) terminals of the chime.

    Review: EZVIZ DB1C

The password for accessing the video stream is the 5-character verification code that is set as default when you receive the DB1C. If you change this code it "breaks" RTSP - I needed to do a reset to get it back to its original value to get the stream working with Blue Iris.

Just thinking about this transformer again. I'd be replacing the chime's existing 8V transformer with a 24V unit. Would that be safe for the chime??

    Review: EZVIZ DB1C

On your chime it is under the plastic along the line of the plunger so it would be an easy install. I was trying to work out where that was - do you mean in the area marked in red in this photo? Interesting that you find the contact sensor so reliable. I will definitely try it - I've ordered a...

    Review: EZVIZ DB1C

Thanks - I've ordered the CPC Farnell transformer. I did think about using a wireless contact sensor, but I read (on the Home Assistant forums, I think) that it's not as reliable as the Sage sensor - i.e. it frequently misses doorbell presses. I also wouldn't know where the electromagnet area is...

    Review: EZVIZ DB1C

I tested the new transformer with a multimeter - connected the leads directly but got zero voltage reading. It's already packaged up for return so probably not worth hooking it up to the Sage sensor. Thanks for the recommendation for Farnell - I've bought from them before. This looks about right...

    Review: EZVIZ DB1C

I didn't realise the DB1C had any kind of battery on board. As a matter of interest, when I connected the new (dead) 24VAC transformer into the loop, with the DB1C, power kit and Sage sensor installed, the Sage sensor was triggering every second. Any idea why that might be? Also, is there anyone...

    Review: EZVIZ DB1C

OK that makes sense - so I should replace the Friedland 8V power supply (it's a D753) with a 16-24VAC power supply. Annoyingly, I just had a 24VAC power supply delivered from Amazon (advertised as being compatible with Ring etc) but it seems to be DOA. I plugged it into the DB1C (with nothing...

    Review: EZVIZ DB1C

I guess the DB1C power kit is specifically intended for use with existing chimes. Most mechanical chimes here in the UK seem to be powered by 8V transformers. The Byron 776 (which I'd originally bought for use with the DB1C) is on the compatibility list for the DB1C, and has an in-built 8V...

    Review: EZVIZ DB1C

The installer wouldn't have had much choice - the 12V AC transformer has a proprietary plug connector which would only have fitted the right-hand socket in the HC450 control unit - it's the black cable on the right in the photo of the HC450. So yes, it seems that the HC450 is powered by the...

    Review: EZVIZ DB1C

I've been rooting around in the HC450 control unit and it seems that it's the 8V transformer that is driving the chime - for some reason there are 3 cables coming from the 8V transformer - 2 are going into the ACT terminal of the HC450 Control Unit and the third is going directly to the 3(T)...

    Review: EZVIZ DB1C

I'm reluctant to splice the existing 12V transformer cable to connect the DB1C (!). If I can pick up a 2nd 12VAC 1A transformer for the DB1C would the setup below be legitimate (without the Sage sensor initially)? What's confusing me is the presence of both the 8V transformer (for the chime) and...

    Review: EZVIZ DB1C

Test out the two free terminals on the chime above with a voltmeter. There's no voltage across the two free terminals in the chime (terminals 1 & 2). Unfortunately the 12V transformer connection into the HC450 control unit is using a proprietary connector, so It will require an ugly solution to...

    Review: EZVIZ DB1C

Are you thinking that the existing 12V 1A AC transformer could power both the Siemens HC450 system and the DB1C? I was assuming that I would need a separate transformer for each. but couldn't make sense of the wiring diagram for the D107 that I attached earlier - I couldn't work out what the...
