    I have NVR at home and VMS at my business. Overall like the VMS better except for the playback. Don't see enough improvement for me to upgrade to VMS since I have to purchase another 16ch license and NVR works with newer GV-Eye app.

    Hikvision with GeoVision software

    Running 9 3MP Chinese Hikvision and 1 2mp Dahua PTZ camera in a Geovision NVR. Works with no issues and no worries about what firmware version camera is on (like language mismatch) since using ONVIF to connect. You can find NVR dongle license cheap on Ebay once in a while.
