Dahua (OEM) 4108 with POE - firmware update

this nvr is too old. Hence why I sold my 4116. The last update was like 2016 yeah. You should buy a NVR that supports the latest 4.0 firmware.

    Review-OEM IPC-T5241H-AS-PV 2mp AI active deterrence cam

2-way talk works. But you need to add the camera by IP in iDMSS. You cannot go thru NVR unless you have NVR firmware version 4.0.

    New Firmware for IPC-HX5X3X-Rhea_Eng_NP_Stream3_V2.800.20190807

Just ran this update thru the NVR 4.000.001 software to update a HDW-4831EM-ASE. Very nice now I can update the camera thru the NVR's interface and it showed me the progress indicator too from 0%-100%.

will a Dahua camera trigger the led if It senses motion

Yes, LED acts like motion light. It's not that bright but its good enough for like a doorway.

Didn't somebody mention that Dahua has started shipping their NVRs with the v4.0.x firmware?

macOS Catalina will kill your SmartPSS

Doesn't make sense why a 32-bit app can't run in a 64-bit OS. It's usually the other way around. The 32-bit app only knows and sees 32-bit memory addressing space. Perhaps, the MacOS is reserving the first 32-bit memory space for system area.

Push Notifications work fine for me both in the 7-13-2019 v4.0 and the 8-09-2019 v4.0.1. I am on 4.0.1 right now for over a week now. To debug this issue, you should run a tcpdump and locate the packets to apple's push server. I wrote an explanation on how push notifications work in another...

It doesn't appear to the board number for the NVR5432-4KS2. We have the same motherboard number. Now go figure out when was your manufactured and what is the P/N. However, look at the QR-looking type code to the right. Yours is 01.23.10898 and AQ4H. Mine is 01.23.11195 AQ5E

Well you tell that "engineer" that it's the same result. You tell him!! :p Because are they admitting that it is present in 4.0.0 but not in 4.0.1 ?

@shelestoff I made this video a month back of the clicking noise. This is on the side of the Dahua NVR retail box: DHI-NVR5432-4KS2 Weight: 6.50Kg Size: 530mm*500mm*210mm P/N: 1.0.01.23.11911 Made in China Date: 2019-06 No. 1199, Bin'an Road, Binjian District, Hangzhou, P.R. China I have...

is it possible that it is just a firmware hardcoded display max value of 80Mbps but realistically the hardware can still support 320mbps. What I'm saying is, if you indeed max'd out the bandwidth beyond 80, the value of the remaining will probably just wrap to a minus value, but still keep...

    Big update!! NVR5XXX-4KS2_MultiLang_V4.000.0000000.0.R.20190713

V3.216 may be stable but so far I’ve seen no issues on my end with 4.0 other than the clicking noise. I have to use 4.0 because the 5xxx AI cam 2-way talk only works thru the NVR with 4.0 firmware. Otherwise I have to dedicate a direct access IP to that specific camera in iDMSS and that defeats...

Oh you have the same issue too?!? Glad it’s not a hardware problem then, as I suspected. Yes the issue is still present, they did not fix it. You clearly think we’re all idiots. Yes, I have factory reset 10 times. I have factory default 10 times. I even used the hardware button to factory...

I was able to upgrade and downgrade between all versions of 4.0 back to v3.216 like 5 times. I had an issue with mine where the relay would start clicking by itself. So I had to downgrade. I know the documentation says it's not downgradeable...but that wasn't the case. I have a NVR5432-4KS2

What is everyone using for VPN service provider?

The new Rasperry Pi 4 should be a fast workhorse for OpenVPN usage and rather cheap one at that. Or you could just use a Ubiquiti ERX as well.

New iDMSS Plus ver 4.70.000 8/22/2019

It does work. When you get a motion event notification or IVS crossline trigger, in iOS, you click the notification. The notification brings you right into the app and then immediately, you push the movie icon. It will then show you the 30 second clip of the event. The event happens at the 15...

New iDMSS Plus ver 4.70.000 8/22/2019

Dahua released new iDMSS Plus. They got a progress bar loading indicator now for each of the camera. 1. Optimize user interface 2. Adjust live window quantity for memory play 3. One-click arm/disarm 4. Support SMD Motion Detection 5. Support loopback authentication 6. Fix other problems

Dahua NVR NVR4XXX-4KS2 upgrade to 8 Channel

I sold my 16 and got a 32. I was already at 14 cams and I'm pretty sure some day, I would go beyond 16. That's right. Dahua definitely uses different CPUs depending on the number of channels and Mbps throughput.

    TinyCam Pro w/ 2019 Amazon Fire 7 and IPC-HFW5231E-Z & HDW5231R-Z

By the way, Microsoft Go surface tablets I believe can be unlocked to run Windows 10, and then supports HEVC which means H265 decoding. The apps are all free at that point and you can use all kinds of surveillance apps like a PC including dahua SmartPSS, Amcrest Surveillance Pro, etc.etc. I am...

Cam #5 and #6 are up (includes dual starlight)

Cam #5 and #6 are up (includes dual starlight)

@Mr_D Question about the way you mounted this camera in the first picture. If you mounted the camera horizontally (where the base is mounted against the wall of the house) instead of using the extension bracket, would you still be able to orient the camera enough to where you can get the angle...

Repurpose NVR case fan to CPU fan - easy!

In my 20 years of building PCs ever since I was in the 7th grade, it is my experience and understanding, that of all the CPU's heatsink/fan combinations I have seen, both aftermarket and Intel and AMD.. that the fan blows air downward into the heatsink. But this is how all the big name companies...

Amcrest IP2M-841 and IPM-721 Updated Firmware

The 841 is a sweet camera by Amcrest and probably one of the top selling. Surprised Dahua doesn’t have an equivalent oem international model. The 841 has amazing pan and tilt and built in 2 way talk. Night vision is also top notch especially in complete darkness in the garage or kitchen.

Repurpose NVR case fan to CPU fan - easy!

Dahua actually has a pretty decent 60mm fan installed in their NVR for expelling heat. But if you're not using all four hard drives like I am, then you're much better off re-purposing the 60mm fan and mounting it on top of the CPU itself. This default fan location is mounted so far away from...
