My Dahua NVR5432 was hacked last week!

Yes, when I reviewed the NVR logs, I also did see 'config' user account added at one point.

Onvif camera added to Unifi Protect

Reporting back. No issues with streaming UNVR to Blue Iris, to mobile cellular using Teleport VPN and recording to UNVR at the same time. Of course though, I am using all Dahua or Dahua-oem cameras, not Hikvision.

Onvif camera added to Unifi Protect

I just got all 12 of my cameras which consists of Dahua Turrets, PTZ, Amcrests, Amcrest doorbell, all hooked up and adopted to the UNVR. All these cameras range from model years 2017 up to 2023. At the same time the cameras are also feeding separately into an Intel NUC running Blue Iris to give...

HUGE RUMOR: Unifi Protect will support ONVIF cameras (like from HIK/Dahua)

By the way the UDM ProSE has teleport. I just used it. Wow it is truly zero config setup. Got it working on my phone in under two minutes including app download for wifiman.

HUGE RUMOR: Unifi Protect will support ONVIF cameras (like from HIK/Dahua)

Yeah I spent countless hours figuring out how to block inter-vlan. Most of the YouTube videos apply to the UDM and that’s using firewall rules. But because I have a layer 3 switch and having the VLANs use that as the router/forwarder, the firewall rules didn’t apply. I have to use ACLs. UDM Pro...

HUGE RUMOR: Unifi Protect will support ONVIF cameras (like from HIK/Dahua)

That’s the easiest way. Yes yes I thought about that. I like to make my life more complicated and really just lock down these Chinese cameras from ever sending a native packet out to the web. Period. So I prefer to just have the Rapsberry Pi, running a OS, fetch the NTP and have it serve the...

HUGE RUMOR: Unifi Protect will support ONVIF cameras (like from HIK/Dahua)

This week, after my hack thread regarding my Dahua nvr5432, I have migrated all my onvif Dahua and Amcrest cameras to the Ubiquiti UNVR paired to a UDM ProSE and ProSwitch running vlans and layer3 inter-vlan management. The Protect app hands down is way better and more intuitive to use. The...

My Dahua NVR5432 was hacked last week!

I’ve just about fully migrated all Dahua cameras to my new Ubiquiti UNVR. The Ubiquiti App is so much more easier to use than iDMSS. So much more user friendly. However, the Protect UI on the console for managing cameras is quite lacking when compared to Dahua’s NVR app. Another bummer is...

My Dahua NVR5432 was hacked last week!

I ran Windows Defender scan along with MalwareBytes scan. Nothing found. No keyloggers. I'm convinced the intrusion was a network intrusion. I have confirmed that I was not the only one hacked this past couple of weeks. Others were as well and had the same signature.

My Dahua NVR5432 was hacked last week!

So how does OPNSense compare to pfSense and Firewalla Purple? Is this yet another system that runs on windows Linux that attaches in between the router and your home switch? I’m actually considering the Firewalla Pirple now from the above recommendation due to its DNS filtration capability...

My Dahua NVR5432 was hacked last week!

Gentlemen you are correct. I bought the UDM Pro SE, the Pro Switch Poe w/ Layer 3 support and their UNVR. Yes I’ll be going full VLAN and device segregation from this point on. IoTs will be on one vlan. PCs on another. TV and Fridge as well.

My Dahua NVR5432 was hacked last week!

I'll be switching to WireGuard the next time around. By the way, I'm switching to a Ubiquiti NVR. Ubiquiti has finally opened up their ecosystem to support ONVIF. For sh** and giggles, I'm going to flash the latest firmware to the NVR and if it bricks.. so be it.

My Dahua NVR5432 was hacked last week!

Yeah. But what happened to the ipcamtalk philosophy of “Don’t update fw if you don’t have to or it’ll brick it?” Lol

My Dahua NVR5432 was hacked last week!

I’m not going to dispute that. I run Windows 11 with BitLocker by default. malware is certainly a possibility but windows scan didn’t detect anything. I’ll try a stronger scanner. They very early version or V4.0. Build 08/09/2019. Perhaps they used the login bypass hack? Sure. NVR is Hardware 1.0

My Dahua NVR5432 was hacked last week!

You might also ask how did I discover this? Well one night my NVR was rebooting 4 times. So they were trying to reboot it. Then also they set max user connections from 128 to 0. So effectively, all my user level accounts were locked out (only admin account could get in). That’s when I knew...

My Dahua NVR5432 was hacked last week!

It finally happened but I'm not sure how it happened because I consider myself somewhat a bit savvy with networking. It took 5 years before a breach occurred. The intruder had four admin accounts created: "hackedBy", so and so. They also deleted all my 'user' accounts with basic privilege...

Just giving the OP a thumbs up. I bought the nvr from him and all is well.

Dahua NVR, footage randomly getting deleted??

Your HDD is probably dying. In my experience when I lose segments of video on the Dahua nvr, and I’ve seen timeline slices missing, the camera is about to die and sure enough a week later it craps out. If you can’t retrieve an entire segment for all cameras, the hdd is dying. Make sure you use...

    Intel i7-4770K + Asus Gryphon Z87 + 32GB Corsair Vengeance Pro

Upgraded my computer so I'm selling this old setup. This is a great set-up for running Blue Iris and because the motherboard is micro-atx, it is a small form factor good for small enclosure. Intel i7-4770K stock CPU/heatsink (never overclocked) Asus Gryphon Z87 motherboard 32GB (4x8GB)...

Has anyone figured out yet how to RTSP stream channel 0 "multi stream"?

Oh **** it worked. I have a 32 channel so I did channel=33&subtype=0. HAH! Thanks!

Has anyone figured out yet how to RTSP stream channel 0 "multi stream"?

Has anyone figured out yet how to RTSP stream channel 0 "multi stream"? Channel-0 displays can display all 16-channels simultaneously in a single stream on a single channel and this results in smooth playback and low bandwidth. I have confirmed on SmartPSS that this functionality DOES work...

What happened to Live Cams Pro on iOS?

Wow, thanks for the response Barry. Hands down this app was amazing, probably the best camera app on the iOS. It was incredibly stable, fluid, and worked.

    Any 5V outdoor camera?

Are there any 5V outdoor camera? I know the indoor ones (Dahua/Amcrest) uses 5V and that is nice since it is low power and picture quality is great. But I haven't found any 5V versions for Dahua for outdoor in a metal housing. Curious why that is.

Can a 5241E-Z12E be powered by solar panel and SLA battery setup?

The 5241E-Z12E power consumption would be as follows: DC12v 2.5w @ no IR = 0.208A DC12v 9.4w @ with IR = 0.78A With a 12V SLA battery pack, let's say there are 19 hours in a day with no sunlight, then 19 hours x 0.78A = 14.82Ah of consumption per day for this camera. So sounds like I need a...

Can a 5241E-Z12E be powered by solar panel and SLA battery setup?

Basically, you can think of my project kind of like the Flock camera system. I'd like to build something similar where it is standalone.

Can a 5241E-Z12E be powered by solar panel and SLA battery setup?

I have some trick up my sleeves... involving periodic wireless upload with a low power raspberry pi. Remember, I only need pictures.... not a stream.
