    I know nothing about how the camera works. Yes I've seen the track function on a friends camera and it is the reason I bought this camera. Why do you say patrol is pointless? Can you not have patrol mode + auto track working at the same time?

    My apologies... This is a Hikvision DS-7608NI-E2 (non-POE) SN:540384137 I can get the firmware version and system information tonight. I'm 90% sure this is an international version based on the sticker and the english GUI. But you never know if those stickers are reliable (easy to doctor it)

    I just received one of these bad boys from Amandacams. I'm going to install it tonight - can't wait! How much does permanent patrol mode reduce the lifespan of PTZ cameras? The 4.7mm focal length is a little narrow for my scene, so I wanted to have it patrol to get about 90°FOV.

    Poor Night Vision (DS-2CD2532F-IS)

    two of my 2CD2132's seemed to have a broken IR after a couple of years. I found that swapping from auto-switch to scheduled timer instantly re-enabled the IR. There is certainly no IR coming from your camera. So lets get that going before any further adjustments.
