    NVR & POE Switch Question

I must have missed read things. I thought you already were using a managed switch and where having issues see cameras on your switch or cameras directly attached to your NVR based on the ip addressing used on your nvr. TonyR's comment about a thread now might make some sense. I thought when...

    NVR & POE Switch Question

Does your NVR need to be on your LAN? If not then you could simply move it to the switch, I bet it picks up the switch network IP range, unless your statically assigning all those IPs. Does the switch have the a built in router or virtual router?

    Varifocal Cam questions

Yeah I think I found the correct amazon link for him last night before heading to bed, the first one did not seem right at all. but somewhere in one of his thread I think was an updated amazon link. It had like 94 items or something, vs the other with like 19 and non of them were the camera...

    Varifocal Cam questions

Yes i know you did. I read the reviews I found, but BI was not mentioned specifically in the IPC-T5442T-ZE review thread, I did note Andy said it would work with BI in the one the thread were he introduced it as coming, but that was before the cam was available for review. I know the other...

    Varifocal Cam questions

Oh crap I almost forgot, Has any used the IPC-T5442T-ZE with Blue Iris? I know the other version seemed to work with BI but just wanted to double check since it is so new, any BI quirks I should be aware of?.

    Varifocal Cam questions

So I think I narrowed down my varifocal choices to one of these IPC-T5442T-ZE over IPC-HDW5831-ZE? My other question is the 5442 uses starlight while the 5831 uses stravis (sp) correct? I had trouble confirming this aspect when I went back looking. Anything negative I should be aware of that I...

    Varifocal Cam questions

That's a very interesting camera. Need to read up on it more. Can I assume it is based on T5442? Because I am liking the IPC-T5442TM-AS it made short list for wide area coverage.

    Varifocal Cam questions

I understand that, but the area this camera will be viewing has lighting. So I am not ruling out a 4k yet.

    Varifocal Cam questions

OK So I was looking at the specs and reviews on some Dahua cams: IPC-B5442E-ZE IPC-HFW2831T-ZS IPC-HDW5831R-ZE But I noticed none them support ONVIF, I am planning on using BI and I was liking what I saw until I realized they were no ONVIF. Or maybe I miss read some of the info or is there a...

Need input on camera options for this doorway

So I think for the doorway I am going to try out the IPC-HDBW4231FP-AS 3.6mm lens, I think I saw something about a new version recently identified as -2AS? I don't recall seeing any videos/pic on it though. For my large area coverage I looking at trying one of these, still narrowing it down...

Need input on camera options for this doorway

So after looking at my windows at the entry way I really cannot do a cam on the inside unless its at the bottom of the window and point it up. Something to play with thought once I narrow my choices down. I have a short list for this camera, and I looking at the colorvu and dahua 5442 for the...

Is this the same as this: Hikvision DS-2CD2347G1-L -- NVM I just found alastairstevenson review of the cam and he had this part number referenced. Just wondering if there is any differences, I just did not want to assume the part number difference to be related to the distributing source, so...

Need input on camera options for this doorway

The ONVIF stuff I was referring to has to do with them US Banning there products, but as I understand it OEM products that are based on Dahua and Hik products are not banned if I read things correctly. The way I understand it is ONVIF will be dropping them from membership on the release of the...

Thanks for the input, your making me think now about a cam on the inside like that. So I am trying to find a camera option, with either 2.8 or 3.6 mm Lens and mounting position for my doorway. The goal is to keep an eye on packages and catch faces on walk up.
