    Review-Dahua SD1A203T-GN Starlight Mini PTZ

Can this camera follow people? I was thinking about getting this to track people walking by automatically, not sure if this relies on Dahua NVR function or the camera can do it by itself and just send footage to Blue Iris?

    Worlds First Review - Dahua DH-IPC-HDW5849H-ASE-LED / IPC-Color4K-T - 2.8mm Turret

Browser is a choice as much as which toilet paper you want to use, each one prefers a different touch where it matters. Stating everyone needs to use sandpaper to wipe their backdoors is not good advice, especially since the softwrae is defunct. If I was the large corp like Axion, or whatever...

What an unfortunately and uneducated quote. Edge is based on Chromium, same source code as Chrome, Opera, Brave and others. If you guys want to avoid corporations, then use Thor browser as Mozilla Firefox is mostly funded by Google for example, it is not the hippie movement browser you may...

Edge doesn't run activex or flash, defunct tech. If you want to run activex, you need IE, Edge emulates IE, but again that is like closing your door at night but a shoe lace

I think it is because the camera is configured for H265, and safari among many other browsers do not have h265 decoding capabilities, so something it doing the decoding, not sure if the camera or the browser, but so far I understand, there is a conversion happening live as you view the camera...

    Review-OEM Loryta IPC-T5442T-ZE Varifocal 4mp camera (Dahua)

I think that is why a fixed lens would have better low light quality, it will have bigger aperture, if you get the varifocal to match that 3.5 or 6mm, then the aperture gets smaller and you get less light in, right? Sorry I'm just learning all these things from reading posts here :)

    Review-OEM Loryta IPC-T5442T-ZE Varifocal 4mp camera (Dahua)

from the calculator, it was giving me about 6mm at the zoom I wanted, but that would convert to perhaps 3.5 on a fixed lens with same sensor size? It seems like I'll need to buy a fixed camera to test. I'm wondering how much different a fixed 3.5mm would be from a varifocal at 2.7mm.

    Review-OEM Loryta IPC-T5442T-ZE Varifocal 4mp camera (Dahua)

I was nearly concluding I needed 6mm, I'm glad you posted here. A fixed 6mm is way different then the varifocal at theoretical 6mm, I thought life was going to be easier just testing the varifocal all around and then going shopping for fixed lenses knowing they would fit... God, this is not easy!

    Review-OEM Loryta IPC-T5442T-ZE Varifocal 4mp camera (Dahua)

I was informed in another topic about Focal Length Calculator My idea with fixed lens is to get the best quality possibly where I've settled for the focal length. I read somewhere the quality of image on varifocal decreases a bit compared to a fixed lens. By the way, what a difference between...

The Importance of Focal Length over MP in camera selection

How do you guys convert the zoom on the IPC-T5442T-ZE for example into focal length in mm? The web interface of the camera just gives me a slider that has a value from 0 to 2275, I guess I need to find a way to convert this into mm?

    Review-OEM Loryta IPC-T5442T-ZE Varifocal 4mp camera (Dahua)

How can I check what the zoom level of this camera is equivalent to focal length in mm? I'm trying to use this camera to help me establish what focal length I need at different areas so I can buy fixed lens cameras. I was hoping there would be a way to find this on the camera itself, but so...

    Worlds First Review - Dahua DH-IPC-HDW5849H-ASE-LED / IPC-Color4K-T - 2.8mm Turret

Why there is such dependency on internet explorer considering it has been on the list to be completely dead for a few years already? Microsoft already ceased support for it for quite some time, the whole world has moved on to Chromium. It seems odd to me to have such nice hardware with firmware...

Worlds First Review - Dahua DH-IPC-PFW5849-A180-E2 - Dual Lens 180 Degree Full Color 4K (8MP Stitched) Camera

This i clearly a bug/bad code on firmware then. are there plans to resolve this issue? I also didn't expect the ratio to be this bad. Doesn't seem to be rocket science as there are other cameras doing the same 180 degree without stretching the image. I guess this is the dahua NVR? I'll try...

Worlds First Review - Dahua DH-IPC-PFW5849-A180-E2 - Dual Lens 180 Degree Full Color 4K (8MP Stitched) Camera

I just got this camera, thanks to @EMPIRETECANDY for that. The quality is really great, night image with some lights from lamp posts also is unbelievable clear with no need to use the camera built in lights. I'm impressed, hopefully no more spider webs going forward. Just one thing that is...

    Camera Recommendations

I'm actually thinking if it is better to get the video footage processed in some AI tech in Blue Iris or Frigate to identify something and then trigger a siren that is not related/connected to the camera. Maybe using home assistant and controlling a zigbee relay?

Ah, so that is more a gimmick than a useful feature. Noise is that would put people off, flashing lights would not help much, perhaps just making evident where the noise is coming from making it an easier target. I'm waiting for Andy to come back and then send me a couple of cameras to start...

    Camera Recommendations

I guess the camera speaker and a camera that has "siren" built in would be considerably different? Let's say comparing the IPC-T5241H-AS-PV that I believe has active deterrence (whatever that actually means) so it would be different from a regular speaker camera, or is it all just the same...

I found some stuff on aliexpress most are 12v 1200mA+, so way out of range. Defo would need a 12v power supply. very few 240v models, which means another power supply in the middle :/

I'm thinking about getting a proper loud siren because it will annoy the hell out of them, including the neighbours, but someone will soon put their head out of the window and do something. I heard many time, of you lit the place, you are just making the thief live easier to see what they are...

    Camera options for front door

I read all of them, it seems doable, but I could easily mess it up. I may just get one 2MP 5241 and one 4PM 5442 to test. Height is about 2.1m (7ft), it may look higher on the picture. I can't put it any lower than that. I think where it is it should work well to identify, right?

    Camera options for front door

50/50 I guess, I want to identify parcel thieves as well and random people walking around to check for patterns, but the 4K-T focal length may not even be enough to focus on the cars, they are about 3m (10ft) away. What are your thoughts?

    Camera options for front door

I was searching for this topic about manually changing the focus of the 4K-T but I could not find one. Would you mind pointing me in the right direction please? I may be using the wrong search term. The area is covered, but the existing cameras got sprinkled with rain several times due to high...
