    Review-OEM IPC-T2231T-ZS Ver 2, 2mp Varifocal Starlight Camera

Just as comparison with all the IR off from all 3 cameras, I'll try repositioning it over the next couple of days to see how it goes

    Review-OEM IPC-T2231T-ZS Ver 2, 2mp Varifocal Starlight Camera

.the 5241s are crossing each other's FOV, that is each other IR light. I switched the IR off all of them to compare, it did not make any difference. I'm showing here all the way through the zoom levels. I wonder if the IR reflection on the left post would make any difference when zoom in all...

Worlds First Review - Dahua DH-IPC-PFW5849-A180-E2 - Dual Lens 180 Degree Full Color 4K (8MP Stitched) Camera

I've been keeping an eye, it seems the substream in blueiris drops FPS first, and then the main stream drops, then it all goes downhill and blueiris automatically seems to soft restart it. Strangely, the FPS goes down, but the bitrate is still there, varying a bit up and down, but at no time it...

    Review-OEM IPC-T2231T-ZS Ver 2, 2mp Varifocal Starlight Camera

I meant the image sensor size, I expected the 2 megapixel 1/2.8 to be better than this considering I got 2 units 5241 that in theory got a similar sensor, but as you can see in the images before have much better results.

    Review-OEM IPC-T2231T-ZS Ver 2, 2mp Varifocal Starlight Camera

I was after the low megapixel sensor with a good physical size specifically for night footage expecting it was going to be better than the 4+ megapixel cameras as I read some reports around here. Maybe it was not a very good choice.

    Review-OEM IPC-T2231T-ZS Ver 2, 2mp Varifocal Starlight Camera

Pretty much my settings, I'm just a bit above at 6144kbit bitrate Actually I completely messed up stating the other 2 cameras were 5442s, around it, they are actually IPC-T5241TM-AS. the 5442s were installed in other areas and I ended up mixing them up. So, the other cameras are doing a...

    Review-OEM IPC-T2231T-ZS Ver 2, 2mp Varifocal Starlight Camera

Just wondering how can I get better image quality at night from this camera. I've it zoomed all the way, and compared to a couple of 5442s 3.6mm, the image is so bad. The focus seems okay at the car right at the end of the road, but the grass and any detail on the ground is all lost: the 5442s...

Worlds First Review - Dahua DH-IPC-PFW5849-A180-E2 - Dual Lens 180 Degree Full Color 4K (8MP Stitched) Camera

I have substream2 disabled, I only use substream1. I'm using AAC audio at 64k, not sure if that has any effect. I notice a couple of days ago when I was testing 16000+ kbit bitrate this was happening more often. I'll test like that again this evening

Worlds First Review - Dahua DH-IPC-PFW5849-A180-E2 - Dual Lens 180 Degree Full Color 4K (8MP Stitched) Camera

Exactly same problem I have here with the camera going no signal. I'm trying to compare to web interface. I wonder if this is related to one of those setting like "keep alive" that I know can be problematic with some cameras

Worlds First Review - Dahua DH-IPC-PFW5849-A180-E2 - Dual Lens 180 Degree Full Color 4K (8MP Stitched) Camera

I've a Unifi US-8-60W switch with a CAT6A cable terminated as T568-B (should have used 5E, the damn thing is quite thick), the POE port should be able to hand power at 15W per port. Defo not copper cladding alu cable. I'll check if I can notice the FPS drop directly connected to web interface...

Worlds First Review - Dahua DH-IPC-PFW5849-A180-E2 - Dual Lens 180 Degree Full Color 4K (8MP Stitched) Camera

Is anyone using this camera in Blue Iris? I've noticed it often stop responding to Blue Iris and it seems to be performing a soft restart. I've noticed the FPS drops and then it stops responding. I'm running it at 15 FPS, Key 1 (i-frame 15) at 8192 kbit bitrate. Barely any CPU use in blue iris...

Worlds First Review - Dahua DH-IPC-PFW5849-A180-E2 - Dual Lens 180 Degree Full Color 4K (8MP Stitched) Camera

Is there a way to restart the camera? I can't find any option on the UI. Mine out of nowhere has stopped sending ONVIF events from IVS to Blue Iris, when disable it and move to regular video detection, I get the ONVIF alerts again. I would like to reboot before I try anything else. Is the new...

BI in a VM - good idea or ??

the idea with gpu-p is just to pass the igpu from the cpu to the gues OS, so you can get quicksync working in there. I managed to make my nvidia card show in the VM on the other system, as the other guys mentioned, I think older xeon do not have quicksync. A quick way to test this is to create...

BI in a VM - good idea or ??

I use Blue Iris in a VM in Hyper-V on a 4th gen i5. In theory, you can get a newer CPU generation and you can use GPU-P to share the GPU between the host and the VM. I've already tested this on another system I have with an i7 8th gen, it worked fine. I prefer to virtualise everything as it...

Dahua NVR software in a virtual machine or barebone pc

Hey guys, I've been using Blue Iris in place of my Unifi system, but as any other system, it has a fair bit of "quirks" and I was wondering how different a Dahua NVR experience would be. Instead of me buying a big box to play around, I was hoping I could get an image of their OS/Software and...

@rG-tom did you get any newer firmware update? Has the behaviour changed or still the same? I'm hoping there is some sort of chime to use with this doorbell eventually.

REVIEW: Budget 4MP Turret Comparison - IPC-T2431T-AS vs Chinese HDW4433C-A

Can this camera record audio at a high bitrate? Once I started using AAC at 64000 and seeing how well it can pick conversations on the 5442s, I would like to avoid having to use other lower quality formats

Smart Motion Detection generating a lot of false positives

Did you have IVS for those cameras before using BI for motion detection? How is the additional CPU load looking like? I'm thinking about for the time being just getting a couple of very large HDDs and leaving 24/7 until I learn more, Maybe that is cheaper than getting hardware to cope with...

Smart Motion Detection generating a lot of false positives

One thing I'm realising is that the detection is not good for triggering recordings. I've been testing for a few days to trigger when motion is detected and it misses a lot of post/during movement when someone parks a car for a few seconds and then step out after 10-15 seconds for example. It...

looking for a blue iris compatible wifi camera

What is the Dahua model equivalent? I could not see this camera anywhere on Aliexpress Also, is it just 2.4ghz? That would be pretty bad in busy environments. I need to replace 3 Unifi wifi cameras with something else, but it needs to be on 5ghz radio

Smart Motion Detection generating a lot of false positives

I was not aware I had to enable smart plan: It finally worked! The new web interface on the IPC-PFW5849-A180-E2 doesn't have such a setting, I just added an intrusion zone and it worked straight away:

Smart Motion Detection generating a lot of false positives

Do I need this enabled to make IVS work? I can't get any tripwire/intrusion to work on the IPC-T5442T-ZE. I've tried from creating intrusion with appear/cross and inside, to trip wires both directions, still no luck Is there documentation/tutorials about this? It seems to be a minefield...

Smart Motion Detection generating a lot of false positives

Very helpful information, I was sold the idea that SMD would work wonder with the terminator working inside the camera doing AI wonders and catching only the relevant stuff. Well, not when using BI then, that makes me wonder how a Dahua NVR would work. But I guess once you started getting used...

Smart Motion Detection generating a lot of false positives

I'm a bit confused with camera detection as well, I got the same model running in BI and using ONVIF triggers. The camera is detecting pretty much any pixel changes as movement, I've the same config just for human and cars, but lights and animals are triggering it. Sometimes I cannot even tell...

Worlds First Review - Dahua DH-IPC-PFW5849-A180-E2 - Dual Lens 180 Degree Full Color 4K (8MP Stitched) Camera

@EMPIRETECANDY it makes sense to use the stretched horizontally aspect ratio if you are watching recording on a NVR live, but being given an option how to display it would be better. So who wants real aspect ratio can record and play in that format, who want to strech things up to fit in their...
