Dahua IMOU camera owners, please share your information here! Thank you.

It is actually IPC-A22E-D copied from the camera dashboard. I can get everything working just fine, it costs £20 in the UK, equivalent to £15 USD I guess. It also has a network port (not POE) so for that price, it is a very good value camera that can go into BI.

Does anyone know if we can get onvif motion alerts from these cameras? I have a IPC-A22E-D (Ranger 2 apparently) which works fine in BI for video and PTZ, but I can't figure out if there is any onvif support for movement.

    CodeProject.AI Version 2.0

How are you guys getting on with face detection? I'm testing getting BI to save unknown faces, and then tried to train CP to learn from those mugshots, but so far not a single BI picture has worked in CP, it says face not detected, when my fat face is clearly in there. I'm ugly, but not...

Mine works with NTP, it is just very flaky that is takes a while to update first. To be honest, all dahua cameras I have were a bit strange when setting up NTP. I use the ntp.org servers, but I had to set up the right timezone and DST.

ONVIF alerts not working on 5.7

How do you test? Do you have a VM with additional license or something like that? TO me, the only way to test is to update, see how it goes and then install older update on top using the built in updates. Not the end of the world, but indeed having a side by side system that I can run in...

The Importance of Focal Length over MP in camera selection

I have the 2231 varifocal, zoomed all the way, and a couple of 5241 3.6mm to cover the sides at closer distance this 2231 doesn't cover. I'm thinking about replacing all of them with 5442s. I have another 5442 zoom in another area that works pretty well, but not zoomed in all the way like the...

ONVIF alerts not working on 5.7

I guess it was on the 180 camera, but I've notice this happening to all other cameras now, not just the 180 Yep, but since then it has clearly got worse, to a point that all cameras are not working anymore, back to 5.6 now Pretty much all the last 5 or 6 updates on 5.7 have been around...

The Importance of Focal Length over MP in camera selection

Well, I ended up getting some 2MP instead of 4MP and in some cases this does not necessarily apply. The 5442s from Dahua are pretty good at night, some 2231 I've got are average at best, 5241 slightly better, but I should have got insteda 5442s, all of the 5442s I have for dark environments are...

ONVIF alerts not working on 5.7

Are you guys experiencing problems with dahua cameras and the latest 5.7 versions released? I had to downgrade to 5.6 to get it to work again. It seems all 5.7 updates from BI so far break ONVIF alerts

If you run out of sensors, use something like Observium of LibreNMS, they can't do WMI but for monitoring other things it is much better and flexible than PRTG and runs in Linux

I've not noticed drops anymore, but I didn't have a chance to keep a close eye on my system lately due to work commitments. Review-OEM IPC-T2231T-ZS Ver 2, 2mp Varifocal Starlight Camera

Ok, thanks for the heads up, so the image quality at distance would need to be better illuminated? I wonder if an external and more powerful IR would resolve that, or make it worse as the camera may not be able to handle that extra illumination properly? Is there any good solution for optical...

I've repositioned all the cameras for further testing, avoiding any IR from other cameras or other surfaces on the way. The IPC-T2231T-ZS still a bit odd, it loses so much detail when zoomed in, I don't understand why. In comparison during the day: the T5241TM-AS is much better in the same...

I just increased bitrate to 16000 and used ROI at quality level 6 to make it go all the way up, FPS still at 15 FPS. Are you suggesting increasing FPS to see if I can find a bottleneck like the CPU of the camera? I'll do that and try to use ROI as well to see how far it can go.

Cameras and BI on the same VLAN, no routing on firewall in between them. They are not on the same switch, they are using uplinks, the network topology is fine and I monitor the network ports for traffic so I can easily gauge if there is congestion, plus the CCTV VLAN has priority over other...
