Flickering night Image (link with video) DS-2CD2042WD-I 4MP 12mm

It looks like you are picking up a 60Hz AC component. Is this POE powered of do you use a 12VDC supply? If it is a separate supply try a new DC supply. If that doesn’t fix it, take the camera down and plug it directly into your computer with a different DC supply. If there are still rolling bars...

    PoE injector + PLA

You cannot use a regular PLA and get POE out. The PLA has to have a built in POE injector. Not the cheapest way to go. Separate PLA and POE injector is much cheaper.

    Remote Access

OpenVPN is free. You need to setup your router to run OpenVPN. Check your router manual. Then you need to install the app on your phone. Your router will generate an authentication key you need to email to your phone to allow the app to make a connection. If your IP address can change you need...

    Intermittent No-Link with Hikvision

Start by using playback to see which cameras are doing this. Is it only those two cameras? Do they have the latest firmware? Have you tried rebooting both the cameras and the NVR?

Change e-mail notification settings remotely for Hikvision DS-7716NI-SP

What I do is have the email alerts setup to send to a dedicated email address I only use for my NVR and to text my phone. I then “block this caller” using the email address named as NVR. That way I receive no texts from the NVR, but I can still view my emails when I want to. I do not have the...

LaView 4MP IP Dome Camera Night Vision Quality..

Search these forums there are plenty of recommendations. The higher the MP the lower the night vision capability. Hik makes a good low light turret 3MP it’s model is 2335. Dahua makes some good low light cameras that have been discussed on these forums.

Wondering if anyone can tell me the region my cams are?

WR in serial number is Western Region = good CH in serial number is China = bad The “C” after the 4 alpha characters was a recent change by Hikvision replacing a number in the serial number. It has no particular meaning. If you notice it is has a 2018 manufacture date vs the others have a 2017...

Cut wire (#3) in Cat6 cable, can I make it work?

Let me know how things go
  22. GCoco

    A strange request...

Probably nefarious since you could just save the clip and say it was exported from the NVR. Also you cant write to the NVR as mentioned above.

Cut wire (#3) in Cat6 cable, can I make it work?

Try swapping another pair (blues or browns) for the oranges. Shouldn’t be a problem as long as it is not a long distance. POE uses a pair for each of the positive and negative, so you will still have a DC voltage connection.

Connect a camera directly to your computer (need a POE injector or a 12V supply). Use a network scanner such a Fing to see if it can be discovered. HikVision Firmware with LTS NVR

LTS has not updated its firmware for this NVR in 2 years. I would tend to think your NVR will not accept the firmware. Or you may end up bricking it. Let everyone know what happens if you try it. This type of question (Hik FW to LTS NVR) has been around forums for 3 years with no definitive answer.

    8MP bullet Cameras

Bullets do tend to attract more spiders, but they have a 50 and 80 meter range vs a 30 meter range for the turret. So it depends on what your particular application requires.
