I asked Hikvison to check a serial number for me, and here is their response,

Why not contact Nellys? From that others have said they stand by what they sell and have good support to boot.

    POE switch help

Another suggestion on a POE switch is the TP Link TL-SG1008PE. It has 8 ports all of which are POE+ capable of up to 30w a port with a power budget of 120w total. It's available in Australia for just over $200 depending on where you shop. Please bear in mind you'll lose one port to uplink...

    POE Switches

Or I'll just throw it in my IT bits box and save it for another maybe :) Initially I was only going to throw a switch on the shelf in my WIR but my partner put her foot down about that and made me go the whole 9 yards. I was fortunate that the existing house was gutted back to frame as well as...

    POE Switches

Thanks for the quick reply Michelin Man, my thoughts are the same as yours about it being overkill but it's being offered to me for just over $300 and it's been pulled out of a working environment for a business that's gone under. The noise isn't going to worry me that much as my rack sits in...

    POE Switches

Hello all Just after some thoughts on what would be best practise or recommended. I'm just preparing to move back into my house from a major revonation/extension and working to getting my surveillance back online. I've got 11 cams patched to a panel in my rack and was initially going to...

    Adding IR LEDs?

I'm personally not a fan of having my house lit up like Christmas. I've got decent floodlighting in the front and back with the front lights controlled by a PIR. The rear floodlights are just controlled from switches. When I wired for my extension/renovation I made allowances to be able to...

Mini PTZ camera impressions! 2015 PTZ camera of the year? AVOID THIS CAMERA

I finally got to fire mine up today and must say I'm seriously impressed. The online videos and snapshots just don't do it justice. Unfortunately the weather wasn't agreeing with me today else I'd have mounted it already. This will probably be operational before the Dahua speed dome gets...

Huisun IP PTZ Camera, with Hikvision Protocols

Yes my box resembled an oval football when it arrived. I was blowing steam until I saw first hand how well packaged the camera was inside the football shaped box.

Huisun IP PTZ Camera, with Hikvision Protocols

I got mine yesterday. The box had seen better days but the camera inside was wrapped in air packaging so was fine. Initial thoughts are build quality is decent. A bargain for the price. I've not had a chance to fire it up yet keen to get it mounted.

Huisun IP PTZ Camera, with Hikvision Protocols

I can also vouch for the great service from Monica. I ordered the non POE version of the bullet by mistake and she was ok to change it to a POE version and I paid the difference. I'm definitely considering getting another if I don't get skinned alive when this one gets here.

Huisun IP PTZ Camera, with Hikvision Protocols

This was too good to pass up and I've got one on order as well. :) I'm intending on mounting it where I was initially going to locate a 2732 VF dome. As this is my first bullet and not really across best practices when it comes to mounting to locating them, would it be better to mount it on...

    DS-2CD3410FD-IW Cube camera

Hi fenderman Thanks for the prompt reply. I didn't realise the Dahua didn't use IR leds so I think my decision is going to go towards the 3410. The 3410 will work out to be $95AUD each shipped. Nah using them standalone at this stage, not even going to bother with recording either. If I...

    DS-2CD3410FD-IW Cube camera

My partner and I are almost back into our home with our little girls and my partner has mentioned she'll be buying a couple of babycams with a display. I'm trying to convince her to give them the flick and go with a cube cam instead so was looking at the DS-2CD3410FD-IW. It'll come in cheaper...

Drunk guy vandalizes Porsche using a rock...

What an absolute scumbag. I'm in favour of removing his hand as punishment and to send a message to other scumbags that this is what they'll end up like when they're caught. Do you know if he was caught?

What type of work vehicle are you using?

I work out of a VW caddy panelvan. I have 5 seats, a decent drawer setup, false floor to sit over the backseat when folded down for more carrying space and a cargo barrier which can be located behind the front seats or behind the back seats.

    Hard drive suggestions

Hi Bentley Although not used for storing surveillance data, I bought a data hard drive dock with a network interface which I use to hold data which I expose to the internet. The benefit of it is you can pretty much use any hard drive you like it in, and the drawback is it's not as neat as a...
