    Dahua PTZ starlight outdoor recommendation

Andy suggested an IPC-HDW5231R-Z. It's been too cold outside to install, but warmed up to 60 today so just got it up and running this evening, though I did have some issues when trying to tighten down the eyeball into the frame. Turning the torx screw enough to tighten it so the eyeball was...

    Dahua PTZ starlight outdoor recommendation

A couple years ago I purchased a SD49225T-HN from Andy. Awesome camera. I'm looking for another couple PTZ outdoor starlight cams, but don't want to spend as much as I did on the SD49225T-HN and after going through the Dahua camera selector on their site, I'm confused as heck what to get...

    Dahua PTZ issues....

Fwiw find/inspect just set it to what it was already set to. Didn't resolve the arrow delay. Just odd, it's like there's some sort of sleep function and once it wakes up, arrow response is instant until it goes back to sleep again.

recommendations for a few new dahua cameras?

I currently have two cameras running, I bought a PTZ Dahua as a test and love the thing but sort of wish I got a wider angle lens. I'd been looking at adding a couple of 5231s but given what I'm trying to do they may be the wrong camera due to narrow FOV. So before I throw more $$, any...

    Dahua PTZ issues....

I came across this post while googling to try to figure out how to solve my BI delay with PTZ on my Dahua SD49225T-HN. There is zero delay if I connect directly to the camera via a browser. But with BI, it can take 30 seconds before it 'wakes up' and responds to PTZ commands. Once it's 'woken...

    Dahua Starlight Varifocal Turret (IPC-HDW5231R-Z)

I guess what I was thinking is mounting it flat against the wall. Once you add that mount it's not subtle. In my case it would be an obvious camera hanging over a public sidewalk which is just looking for trouble. If I could mount it flat against the side of the house, it would be a lot less...

    Dahua Starlight Varifocal Turret (IPC-HDW5231R-Z)

I'm doing some homework to replace my Logitech cameras. This one (when it's back in stock) seems to have phenomenal reviews for use with BI. I'm wondering though if there is some way of mounting it to a vertically flat surface (ie the side of a house). I don't have any kind of underhang I can...

I am so lost on what to buy.... currently using Logitech Alerts

FWIW, just to test things out, I bought a $28 Trendnet PoE injector, ran the flat cable out the window and over to the logitech on the gate. So I'll pick up a couple more cameras and go the PoE and cable out the window route. Thanks for the help everybody. and it's working

I am so lost on what to buy.... currently using Logitech Alerts

For cameras, I'd think gigabit would be preferable? I'm thinking this one with 4 PoE ports. Far as I can tell, all 8 ports are gigabit. http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16833704175&cm_re=poe_switch-_-33-704-175-_-Product

I am so lost on what to buy.... currently using Logitech Alerts

Thanks, I had looked at the chart before I made the original post, that's where I was seeing no bullets with WiFi. FWIW, here's a pic of the gate. As you can see, I have to put the camera on top (that's a logitech there now) in order to get line of sight over cars that may be parked in the...

I am so lost on what to buy.... currently using Logitech Alerts

Thanks for the response, you know... it didn't occur to me that the Logitechs are PoE.... I mean, of COURSE they are, but for some reason it simply didn't click. The outdoor one isn't working because of a failed powerline adapter (2nd time I've had one fail). So this makes me think of one more...

I am so lost on what to buy.... currently using Logitech Alerts

I currently have a 2 camera Logitech Alert system (one indoor, one out) which I got for free as part of their "delta test" program years ago. The thing I love about it is that it uses powerline adapters so it's easy to put the cameras anywhere. The thing I hate about it is has been completely...

    Hikvision Product Comparison

Would it be accurate to assume that turret, bullet and Dome are outdoor cameras while Cube is indoor?
