    Thanks, yes I have a couple of 2.8mm 5442's and would probably say the image looks a bit sharper than the varifocal, if you want to spread the IR wider, try using some diffuser film/vinyl, otherwise known as frosted glass film :thumb: it works a treat.

    Assuming the focus error mentioned above was reference to subject moving, focus being slow to react or similar? maybe not.

    I have a few 5442 series cameras running in areas without any artificial light, are the later 4k x series cameras now better, stocks seem limited. Sorry, out of touch and being a bit lazy! Looking for very best night and day performance, cost not too much of an issue. Thanks in advance

    I am running a 2MP version and it is bullet proof both day and night, using the Dahua Sunrise Sunset application to adjust focus correctly. Settings grabs from my HFW5241E-Z12E if it helps.

    Missed this comment, sorry, yes, good advice, I've been in the tech support game for a good few years and concur! Easy to spend an hour or two one evening pulling hair, only to solve the problem next morning in five minutes :thumb: Second pair of eyes or come back after a break for a revisit :)

    Excellent, thank you, just found that and gone back to 5.6.2.5 which seemed OK with Deepstack and relatively stable! suspect the PC will need a reboot, it often does when BI plays up like this. Could be the new version would be fine with a reboot also but not chancing it at the moment...

    IP is fine, I can view via browser, even have it running in BI now using settings above shown in image but not using standard onvif and inspect still fails, all network settings identical to my other 10 Dahuas! doesn't make sense.

    Something screwy going on, inspect will not detect like it does with my other 10 Dahuas, if I use following settings it does show me the live feed but not zoom controls since inspect fails, is this something with the new cameras or firmware? lots of hair pulling :oops:

    Just a minor thing I picked up on with Pushover alerts, when my clocks changed (I know :rolleyes::rolleyes:) the time stamp is now 1 hour behind on my iPhone. Not the end of the world obviously, wasn't sure if this was something I'd missed or not.

    I've got 12 cameras at the moment, and yes, I know, Milestone equivalent would be massively more expensive. But with that being said, I would pay good money for a solid system between Blue Iris and Milestone. I am not keen on subscriptions, got enough already and pretty sure Milestone for 12...

    No :wtf: spoke too soon, tonight the same camera went offline for recording at the schedule change, shows in the live view substream, stills viewable from events but no actual video footage on playback. How odd that it worked yesterday though after many days of failure.

    Well I tried no HA and same problem sadly, oddly enough the snapshot image in the alert list is accurate but when I go to play, the clip is just before schedule changed over to night :wtf:
