    Q's Cheap Camera Shootout

Received my BeSafe $39.95 + $5.99 POE option camera today. Testing it indoor at the moment. Have a few questions. - I don't see a spot for how often to update the time from an NTP server. Did I miss it? - I'm used to Hikvision cameras where I can set up motion trigger zones and have it dump...

Use both the 2.8mm and something longer. It'll be helpful to see what's going on before they get into your driveway too.

Dahua NVR. Is brand stamped better than unofficial??

Also note that the last link you had from A1Security was NOT a -4K model. BTW, I bought a 4108-P from CCTVMall and after I ordered I was sent an email that they will be placing the order from Dahua and expect up to 25 days for the order to fill. I asked "I thought you would have stock" and the...

    Q's Cheap Camera Shootout

It's not for identification, it's to see cars parking a few houses down the block. Have 12mm cameras to see the resulting foot traffic that then goes into a questionable house.

    Q's Cheap Camera Shootout

Buying one of the Besafe cameras from the $40 link + $6 POE board. Hoping it'll help looking down my street at night.

What Would Cause Only Dahua Cameras to Flicker on NVR

There are network analysis tools that will tell you if you have IP address conflicts, collisions and retries. Google and find a free one and run it to see if that's the reason for your issues. I don't think that is what is happening in your case, though it would be a 'box to check off'...

    Dahua 4mp, 6mm turrets (IPC-HDW4421C)

You sure orange means no comm? usually orange means a slower speed connection, like 100 bt instead of 1000 bt.

200 photos of the porch because the sun is playing peek a boo

They're getting there. Facial identification is poor though with thermal. BTW, they're adopting them at traffic lights just for that reason - not blinded by car lights, glare, etc.

    Fried POE in ipcam

Matwh, The POE circuit is not backfeeding through the RJ45 connector, it doesn't care if the input is shorted - power is lost and it stops working just like if you had a power failure or turned off your system. What have you got to lose by giving it a try and replacing it? If I'm wrong, then...

    Dahua 4mp, 6mm turrets (IPC-HDW4421C)

Okay, thanks. I thought I read in another thread that there were different pn's of this NVR for those features (IVS?)

    Fried POE in ipcam

Exactly, also the data lines are AC and the POE power is DC. Combine DC with water and the metal starts moving around and disappearing. The connector feeds the INPUT of the POE circuit in the camera. I can't see how the POE circuit itself would be damaged.

Sorry - does this one have line crossing and face detection?

Difference between different Dahau NVR models?

old post - sorry to respond. From you list it looks like the 4xxx NVR's are more advanced than the 5xxx or 7xxx due to the 'up to 5mp' play/preview. True? I want to play with a Dahua NVR and don't want to spend extra for a 4K unit when I only have 3 and 4mp cameras.

Also it might just be dried up electrolytics that can be replaced.

    Dahua 4mp, 6mm turrets (IPC-HDW4421C)

Do you have a recommendation for one that is a good value? I have one of these turrets and I'm ready to mount it but it doesn't have a built in DVR like the Hik's. Would like to get something that can do up to 8 cameras and record sound too.

Who makes this and is it any good? FLIR Digimerge dnr204p1

Ends up this thing is toast. Keeps rebooting. RS232 port flashes messages by when trying to boot, complains about ram. Salvaging the 1TB drive but that's it.

True WDR vs DWDR with the DS-2CD2342WD-I makes a big difference!

Is there a way to have it change settings based on the auto switch? Having it at a preset time will only work for a short period of time as the days get longer and shorter.

New Lorex Thermal Cameras - any good?

Try this other link http://www.flir.com/security/content/?id=67949 Note that the less expensive one is listed as 80x45 pixels resolution. There may be some fancy image processing to make it look much better in resolution however. Also note that thermal is great for seeing heat, lousy for...

Picked up this NVR from a trash can - note says 48V supply burned up. If that's all that's wrong - I can fix that. Is this NVR any good? Anyone know who the real manufacturer is and what their equivalent pn is? Digimerge DNR204p1 NVR 4 channel with Poe.

    Dahua 4mp, 6mm turrets (IPC-HDW4421C)

Picked up one of these to get my feet wet playing with Dahua cameras. Have a 3mp Hik turret right now for the front yard but I'm hoping this Dahua has a better nighttime image.
